How do you think the ECS soles would hold up to some light but daily use on pavement and hard polished floors in shops? I mean short trips to pick up some groceries after fishing/hiking/walking the dog. My wife and I spend a lot of time outside on cold wet ground, but I tend to only wear one shoe for all occasions for a single day, lol. And we basically have two seasons, wet/cold and summer. My all-rounder now is a Jim Green Barefoot African Ranger, but it is more of summer boot and kind of heavy. I've been interested in the Forest Escape for a while now but I'm on the fence. I could benefit from a pair of SG style soles for sure but kind of want them to pull double duty. Thanks for the comparison.

Hi. Which tread do you think performs better - this or the Primus trail SG? Particularly thinking about grass/ mud. I'm looking for a good barefoot shoe to play football in!
@OwenJackson2 күн бұрын
The ESC sole offers slightly better grip than the Primus Trail SG. However, the Primus Trail may be more suitable for football (soccer) as it is not perforated and more closely resembles a traditional football boot. The SG's lug pattern also mimics a traditional moulded stud design. The Hydra allows water and mud in, which may not be ideal for extended play with wet socks. The best choice depends on your preferences. Let me know if you need further help 👍🏻

Thank you for watching and for your kind words Charlie 🙏🏻 Have you tried any Vivobarefoot products before? In my experience, this boot fits true to size. If you're between sizes, it often comes down to personal preference, but for a hiking boot, I’d personally go up rather than down. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy to help!

I've recently had scalp Micropigmentation aka SMP head tattoo. Love it as it suits me and got this model. Remington rx7 it's brilliant and feels smooth after the save. Theirs one huge con against it and it's the cleaning side of things. The hair clogs up in the small parts of the blades and you can't run the water through to clean it, you've got to get a small pin and try to unclog each blade. This is harder then the pit bull from what I've seen but this is better quality then pit bull skull shavers. Done alot of research and rx is closer shave, built better but it's the cleaning process that is it's downfall. I know the blades are harder to find to buy. So places in UK at argos have them and amazon have the cheap replicas that work with them. I'm still on my original blade from when buying it 6 months ago. The lights on this show the battery status and I like it but sometimes it'll show half full with 2 lights out of 4 and it'll stop working due to been out of power. Also it won't start up if it's clogged. It'll flash. So one or more blades are clogged and isn't spinning around. Once you get by this, it's a great little machine. Every now and then it needs a deep clean so just rinse it, soak it and try to get the hair out of the blades. You should really bang it out and rinse everytime you use it. Maybe add a small bit of oil on each blade and leave out to dry. I've heard coconut oil is good. Thanks for the video.

are these shoes suitable for warm winter and non rainy days?
@OwenJackson4 күн бұрын
Hey, they're defiantly an option for pavement stomping over winter. I've been enjoying wearing mine for mild winter days in the UK. I have a more winter specific boot from the Gobi family coming soon... Where are you based?
@sh0gost4 күн бұрын
@ I live in Bulgaria. Here winters are not very cold, Past years we didn’t have snow and the temps drop to around -3 to 0 degrees. This is the reason I’m looking for opinions about this low models, because Gobi boot models will be overkill for me.
@migglewiggle5216 күн бұрын
Are these good for snow?
@OwenJackson6 күн бұрын
They perform well in snow with the SG (soft ground) grip, but their lightweight design isn’t ideal for extended exposure to deeper snow. They aren’t designed for warmth retention, and their water resistance is decent but not exceptional. Paired with warm socks, they’re a reasonable option. Mine are still serving me well, and I appreciate their easy accessibility. For more durability, you might consider the Magna Forest ESC: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIC4nJenmtt5fc0 or the Tracker Forest ESC: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipmQfWd7g7WWgNU. What kind of snow conditions do you typically face? Let me know if I can help further 👍

How is the AT grip compared to the Michelin ESC?
@OwenJackson6 күн бұрын
Hi Harry, while the AT grip doesn’t quite match the ESC in the most extreme conditions, it offers a great balance for everyday and off-road use. How do you plan to use them?

Barefoot shoes seem like an oxymoron. How long such thin soled shoes last? They take a punishment off-road. Looks to me like they would leak after you stepped on a rock or a pointy branch a couple times. I don't think shoes need to support ankles. But be strong enough not to break when you are on an uneven terrain.
@OwenJackson8 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing. Barefoot shoes do focus on minimalism, but many use durable materials to handle rough terrain. Longevity often depends on the brand and usage. What do you look for most in a barefoot shoe?

Do these run long like the Primus Lite IIIs? I wish vivo ran half sizes. 9 feels too small over all but 10s are super long, lol.

Do they feel stable to you? I'm currently looking at these, and the motus strength.
@OwenJackson9 күн бұрын
Hi Elijah, great question.The Motus Strength is more structured, designed for hybrid sports and barbell-focused activities, thanks to features like the heel cup and additional lateral wings for stability and locking down the ankle. On the other hand, the Motus Flex feels less rigid and offers greater freedom of movement, aided by the knitted upper, which can be great for dynamic or natural movement activities. It really comes down to your priorities. Do you value flexibility and natural movement more, or are you leaning toward a shoe that supports strength training? What activities are you primarily planning to use them for?

@anniwilson253410 күн бұрын
Owen, I’ve the winterised women’s version of these in dark green. The upper hook system is a faff (great word 😂) because the laces are flat, if they were round I think it would be easier. What I do is continue the lacing criss cross up to the hooks, so no over-tying as you did - then tie the top bow as normal. That way you can just unhook the already tied bow to take them off, and re-hook after putting them back on. Let me know if this works for you!

Altho I know that a major part of it is being conditioned into a narrow view of what shoes look like, but as someone who commutes by bike and is getting cold feet around this time of year I would love those but would probably need to keep a different pair to switch to at work I'll probably order them and see how I feel about them. @Azoth587612 күн бұрын
Its good in cold when paired with a thermal sole and good merino socks. Would note however that it wont stand up to hours of rain/slush though. I used them for 5 hours on a mountain hike in constant rain/snow (depending on altitude). They certainly got cold and damp after a while- but that was before i got the thermal insole. Whether that water was from run off from my waterproof pants once they wetted out, or soaking through the stitching- im unsure. I do apply a waterproofing balm to the leather but i also pack it into the stitching to prevent water ingress- and it seems pretty effective.
