Budget Bourbon Blind comparison

I bought these bottles to dip my toe into the bourbon world, to try and figure out what (if any) I liked. I've sat with them for a while, and now the bottles are nearly finished it's time to welcome Dan & Lydia back for another blind comparison 🥃👍

@@WhiskyGeek Correct (on the charred requirement, not your note taking!)....and, there are four levels of charring.....just to be a bit more technically correct. And the determination of "level of char" has to do with the timing of said char process. The lower the char level the shorter the charring process. Anyway, greetings from the great state of North Carolina! Love London (lived in Frankfurt for a good bit after I graduated from University and went to London on business once a month....LOVED IT!).

I have not seen an eagle rare in my area in year's , that's weird that you get it no problem, not so in the states.

Seems super weird, can normally find it in supermarkets over here for quite cheap (£30 atm). Then I see spare Springbank's laying around on the shelves over in the US! Cheers Scott 🥃👍

interesting watch as l have not tried that much Bourbon whiskey but l have eaten a lot of Bourbon biscuits. l do enjoy a glass of Elijah Craig Small Batch or a wild turkey 101 but l have been looking at a bottle of eagle rare to try so l will look out for it on offer during December

I've not tried much of it either, ~5 bottles more than those in this video. I've replaced these with a Makers Mark 46, Bulleit 10, Elijah Craig small batch and a WT101 (black Friday deals). The research continues! Cheers 101 force ten 🥃👍

@@WhiskyGeek i can recommend Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof :), for me it has a red-winy note in there, which is quite interesting

Is that the JD Single Barrel Strength or the JD Single Barrel Select? Have seen the Select for £26 I think but the Barrel Strength runs at about £62... I've not been a fan of JD to date so it's a bit pricey for me to take a punt on!

Hello Ben, I’ve enjoyed a lot of your content since catching you on the vPub last month. Cheers! Much appreciated. I’m an American that has tried all of these. I thought you did a great job with this. For me, Eagle Rare is definitely best of the bunch. I enjoy all of the others as well with the exception of WR. Not a fan. I really love your style and quality of analysis of single malts and would definitely like to see you continue on with the bourbon content. Enjoy that WT101!

Hey, I've picked up a couple of replacement bottles to continue my bourbon journey. No more WR but a MM 46, Bulliet 10YO and a EC small batch. The WT101 is on it's way! Good fun to explore - will hopefully get to a point I feel comfortable reviewing them too 😅 Cheers mood2move 🥃👍

@@WhiskyGeek Excellent choices, Ben. I’ve tried all of those as well, and think you’ll really enjoy each of them. I’m definitely a big fan of what you’re doing. Keep on keeping on, loving those Bruichladdichs (best distillery!) and all the peaty drams, and bringing loads of knowledge and fun with your family. I get it and I’m here for it. Cheers friend!
