I love your approach to recycling! I am so with that plus I don't have the funds to pay someone anyway so, win win! This was a really helpful tutorial as usual, Ford 👌😊

Even when I do have the funds, I prefer to hang on to them because the only part of being a Boy Scout that stuck with me was "A scout is thrifty"!

@@SonovaStitch Yes, same here. More funds for more fabric, thread and patterns!! 😀 And, of course, reducing our footprint a bit...

Another great tutorial showing an easy and economical way to frame a project. I also like using a canvas as another cheap way to display a project. 😃

I was always told to lace a project when framing. Oh, what a palaver.😂 Your method is so much quicker and easier and i will be using it in future, but i will also watch your lacing tutorial. Thank you.

Excellent video, very good explanations on how to mat a piece. I'm glad you showed the adhesive because I was wondering if it works better than using double-sided tape (looks like it does). I've been framing my own projects using frames from Goodwill and this should make future ones turn out much neater. And mat board looks better than sticky board. Thanks!

I appreciate this approach. Not everything you stitch is an heirloom requiring a professional framer. It's a shame when folks finish a piece and they leave it in a drawer because framing is so very expensive. This "down and dirty" method will get those pieces on display, where they belong!

Do you have a recommendation for another spray? That Krylon spray is no longer available(here in the states).

This is a great idea. I have never seen any technique that doesn’t involve folding extra fabric over the sides and lacing or hot gluing. It down. This seems better. Did you come up with on your own?
@SonovaStitch
@SonovaStitch 5 ай бұрын
Yes, I based it on how we used to frame photos in the pro camera shop I used to work in. It limits later choices (like moving to a bigger frame later) but so far I've never regretted cutting off the excess!

So useful, thanks! Would that sticky spray work on a canvas? Or would it be better to stretch the aida over a wooden frame to make a mock canvas?
@SonovaStitch
@SonovaStitch 5 ай бұрын
Yes, it works to hold the fabric to a canvas surface. The sticky is not super strong though so if there's no frame there to hold the edges, you'd need a more secure attachment method!

Check again. The link worked for me in the US. But also, both Michaels, Joanne's, and Walmart all usually carry this. There's an Elmer's version and one from Aileen that I've also used.
