Budget Friendly Gel for Wavy Hair // Trying Giovanni LA Hold Styling Gel on my type 2 wavy hair

What are your thoughts on this gel? 🥰 I think I've seen so many people recommending it for so long that I had really high expectations 😂 my results were pretty and it did hold up quite well but I did find it to be a bit drying 🤭

I was really impressed the first time I used it, but last time it was a bit "meh." It gives me better results with a very moisturizing protein free leave in, applying it on soaking wet hair very well emulsified and applying a bit more when my hair is 50%dry. I hope this helps! :)

I loooove this! Your hair in the cast really looked promising! I had the same when I used it first time when I apply it like this over all. When I applied it in sections like in my reel, check it out, I was so surprised!!!🤯

Thank you! Maybe I need to give that a go, I'm always scared applying product in sections to my hair because I usually end up using too much product 😂 but it can't hurt to try!

I bought this one too but it doesn’t wow me. It gives me a cast but my hair feels dry and frizzy. I prefer a more expensive gel like the Pretty Curly Girl which never fails me!! 🥰

I'm going to have to give it a few more tries but I'm getting the same impression from it as you 😅 The Pretty Curly Girl gel has been my fave for over 2 years now! I recently tried Treluxe gel and that one keeps impressing me since I recieved it 😍

I was actually debating getting the cantu activator but I didn't for now! I don't have the custard either 😩 but I did get the cantu Jamaican Black Castor oil gel. I'll keep the other 2 in mind for the future though! Thanks for the suggestion ❤️

Can anyone recommend a lightweight gel, protein & aloe free.. that doesn’t leave a wet looking cast? I don’t mind the cast. But when I break mine, my hair still looks wet & stringy in places. So far me not using any product seems better than mousse & gel. I’m using aussie instant freeze only bc I can’t find another that is protein free..

Umberto Giannini scrunching jelly is protein and aloe free I believe, I haven't tried it yet but have a feeling it'll be light to medium hold. Also the Noughty scrunching jelly is protein and aloe free and I'd say that's a light hold for me 🥰
