Hi Elise! I have been enjoying your content recently and I learnt about Premier from your channel. I recently accidentially ordered from them (one swipe on facebook) and cancelled it within minutes, received confirmation it got cancelled. They obviously never shipped that order. They never refunded me, they never responded to my email to customer service. Today, after almost a MONTH after the order was cancelled I am disputing my payment with paypal, as they never reversed the transaction. I googled reviews and people share similar very bad reviews of the company, unfortunately. And while the yarn is very nice indeed (I did receive another "correct" order) I think you should be aware of the customer service situation, when you advertise this company and support them with your own name (don't get me wrong, no blame, it's mostly FYI and food for thought)

I knew it was drummer boy A because of the color of his hair, I’m always using budget friendly even if it’s scratchy since I’m still a beginner and my yarns typically have more neon colors instead of muted yellows that are more wearable. Great video 👍

I'm guessing that A is the cheaper yarn and B is the more expensive yarn, simply because B looks less fuzzy, which I'm assuming means anti-pilling. Ok, so now to finish watching.

I figured A was the budget friendly yarn because of the "fuzzy" detail but honestly I also felt that Drummer B was a bit "stiff looking! I'm making amigriumi for my grandkids and they prefer hem to be soft and cuddly! @@EliseRoseCrochet I was checking out the Premier yarn and had some questions. I'll have to order to get the colors I want and the more I order, the better the discount (shipping and initial order discount as well as total order discount) anyway...I can't actually feel the yarn for softness and I don't get out and around very well. I need to rely on others' input. Is there a difference in "cuddliness" (probably not a word but I think you know what I mean.)? Not so worried about "crispness" for details but tactile softness (feeling when you cuddle it). Or are there other yarns that are comparable to Premier for softness? BTW Love your channel. I'm just getting started and as usual, my project list (just for amigurumi) keeps growing!!

I loved this video since I am always looking at different yarns and primarily make amigurumi. I tend to not want to spend money on yarn that I'm using for my hobby, so budget is usually my top criteria when yarn shopping for amigurumi, even though I logically know I should be willing to spend more for better quality since I'm willing to invest so much time, IF it means a better quality or longer lasting creation. The struggle is REAL for those uber practical types like myself :) I liked A better, so I was pleased to see it was done with the cheaper option! Thanks for sharing your test with us!

Yes, the struggle is real!!! 😂 It always comes down to application for me. If it's a toy that's going to sit on a shelf and just needs to look pretty, there are so many options available. I’m guessing B because the colors seem under-dyed, but that might just be the colors. A is definitely brighter, but fuzzier. I like my amigurumi with zero fuzz! Damn! I was wrong! I am definitely a yarn snob. My go-to yarn is MADELINETOSH Tosh Vintage, but I also love experimenting with yarns from different Etsy sellers. My biggest surprise was Lion Brand Mandala Bonus yarn! My daughter wanted a blanket to take to college and she picked that yarn. I crocheted with 2 strands because it was a dk weight and I wanted a squishier blanket. It was soooooo scratchy while I was working on it. I was so upset…until I washed it!! I added some Downey and then dried it on medium and it is CRAZY soft!!

I'm proud to say I guessed correctly. I usually crochet amigurumi with more expensive yarn, similar to the anti-pilling you used. Here in Germany is difficult to buy Scheepjes Softfun, which I used and adored while living in the UK, so now I use Schachenmayr Catania with a 2 mm hook, which produces very tight and defined amigurumi. I have to say I like more the drummer A, even if it's made with budget yarn. Sometimes it depends a lot on the purpose of said amigurumi. Is it going to be exposed, hugged by a little child, hanged on a tree?

Hooray! I guessed right! My top choice yarns to use for amigurumi... 1. Caron Simply Soft: smooth stitches, soft finished piece and fantastic for embroidery style detail work. 2A. I Love This Yarn (Hobby Lobby): pretty soft although I've had some "painted" style colorways that felt kinda of crispy/scratchy. Lots of great color options and works up nice for those projects that need to have a softer dreamy feel like a lovey or other project for a younger child. 2B. Caron One Pound: So much yarn for the price and still pretty soft and workable. Not great for small details but I'm good with that because I like to mix and match yarn textures on some of my creations. 3. Blanket yarn! Yes, the big chunky chenille yarn works awesome for giant projects to be created in a small amount of time. Use caution when stuffing though and don't overstuff. I typically go for embroidered features and skip safety eyes/noses. Even the very best of those accessories will pull through the stitches. Happy stitching, friends!

Thanks for the video! I too have many beloved but scratchy throws my mother made and I'm super siked to try this new budget yarn. Also, I'm looking forward to making myself a sweater from the Anti-pilling yarn. I made one a few years ago and it took too much time to just look awful after a couple of washings. YES! I guessed right! My guess was mostly based on color difference. I figured the deeper, richer looking red yarn was more expensive.

I guessed A but it was the colours that gave it away for me, be it yarn, paint or anything usually you get softer colours with more expensive. But that isn’t always what you want so it doesn’t make it better, but I did like the crisper detail on yarn B. Also for amigurumi I’m not always wanting huge balls of yarn , which often is the case with budget friendly yarns. There’s a place for both I guess. Thanks for your video xxx

Thanks so much, Karen! Alpaca is such a gorgeous fiber but the one time I tried it for amigurumi I found that it didn't have the structure I wanted. If a toy is going to get a lot of hugs and cuddles (and need washing here and there) a more budget friendly yarn makes a lot of sense! 🥁❤️🧶

Great video! I did guess right, there is more of a "halo" on the Basix, and just a little less definition on the stitches, the colors of the Anti-Pilling were more muted. I'm curious, though...I'm new to Amigurumi, and I'd love to know your thoughts on Acrylic vs. Cotton yarn for Amigurumi. I was told that Cotton was the way to go...I guess they were thinking for definition. Thanks for a great video!!

Cotton is fantastic for amigurumi! The reason I no longer use it is because it has less stretch than acrylic or wool. It ended up being a contributor to developing tendinitis. It wasn't the only factor but I noticed an improvement in my symptoms when I switched to stretchier yarns! Hope that helps! 🧶🧶🧶

As a "wanna be" maker I couldn't guess really. But enjoying all that I am learning from your videos. I have learned so much about yarn that I did not know before. As I'm trying to build a stash to use for toys I'm wondering what would you recommend for a starting inventory of colors that you would use the most in your projects. I have so much yarn on hand..but I was a collector of more variegated colors to use on scarves/cowls, etc. rather than solids. I'm so in love with the bunnies you have made and the pica pau collection. thanks ~ Anne
