A MEMS microphone would have probably been the most appropriate, since that's what is mostly being used in headsets now days. Most run on 1.5V and are fairly efficient.

I don't have the Denon receiver any more. Swapped it out for a Soncoz DAC and Fosi Amp. I did a couple of videos on that process. (and thank you)

@@wmich1 Hi Will, No I ended up getting the Schiit Hel 2e a couple of months ago which is one step up from the Fulla. I ended up having issues with it repeatedly disconnecting and reconnecting. Unfortunately the things that everyone says about Schiit's QC issues are true 😥 In the end I decided to return it and I bought a Mayflower Arc Mk2 which sounds awesome and has tons of functionality. They come with 10 year warranties, and whenever I've emailed Mayflower the founder himself has replied to me directly. Can highly recommend Mayflower!

Optical is typically a source, like optical out of your tv

How can anyone use the Syba Sonic without any software or even a driver for Windows? When asked about software for it the company didn't even have any idea what I was talking about. The thing is a totally useless fraud! How did you get this to appear to work, was the whole video fake?

Simple, the driver is already built into Windows and the device works great. Learn before you speak.
