For the two wire alternator, Andrew Maxwell makes a plug and play module for getting it to work. Plugs into a coil pack and ready to go! Just for those who may already have the two wire style.

I went this route and neither the water pump or the mid mount manifold came with the water pump gasket. I called Holley tech (45min wait) and learned it's AC Delco - 12619770 . He also asked if I was piecing this together myself and if I saved any money. He laughed when I told him how much.

I just searched for saginaw type II, and found one with matching reservoir. The pumps are all the same it seems, just different reservoirs.

That little alternator mod part is genius. From what I understand, the holley kit uses like a 15+ LT engine alternator. You can get them new for like $200...but this is cool. Thanks for doing the research!

The Holley "Premium alt" (from what I can tell) is a mix of the LT/2015+ truck style side post recifier, and the older 4 pin style regulator. You can get the older regulator from, Cadillac devilles and stuff, and swap them in to be controlled by the TermX 1 wire with resistor set up.

Holly's website says the damper 97-190 also works with Ls1, Ls2, Ls3 and 6 mid mount drives. Would that imply the factory LS1 balancer would work. Still have one laying around to check? Could be another $200 savings.

I ended up grinding down the alternator case. Then I used aluminum fabricated reservoir. The cap was off center and gave me enough space to install the alternator.

Did you have any issues w/ the pulley fully seating on the power steering pump? I am using a different pump from KRC but it's a type 2 and dimensions all appear to be the same but when installing my pulley to the right belt spacing alignment the pump shaft was only seated halfway into the pulley. I'm as a loss as to why it's so far off

how does the power steering pump and reservoir fit, @Saabkyle04 said on his 1st gen swap the clearance the reservoir hits the gear box and when you tighten it down it bowes out. I have been running the high mount for around 6 years and jsut dont like the way it looks, the mid mount is so nice

@@graber_effect I can fit my whole arm around it. And have a 5-6inch line going down from fitting to steering rack. A gearbox off the frame might be close, but the steering rack is not anywhere near it.

@@graber_effect I took some measurements. Bottom of reservoir 1" above frame. Reservoir body 3" in from frame at widest point, 5" in from frame at lowest point. 90 degree AN fitting 4" in from frame, 3 inches above frame. Reservoir is 4" forward of the control arm front bushing center point. This kit also pushes everything farther forward than truck spacing so that would add some clearance also.

This one was a stock truck alternator. From say 2000-2006 silverado that was modified. The other with the side post are 2014+ silverado, but have the 2 wire control.
