I have the ead10. You can record with pots and pans and still sounds good. I use it for my suitcase kit and sounds much bigger than without the features.

I rented & tested the EAD10, it works great and sets up quickly. To me a great setup for live performances. Quality & speed of setup is really important for live performances. Great demo guys. 👍

Other instruments don't bleed too much into it on a live setting?
@RogerReality3 ай бұрын
@@flashfan1122 not much, the mic system is active in a small radius about 6' radius.
@scwploeger8 ай бұрын
They all sound great in their own way. The only thing I really noticed, is that the crash cymbal sounds less explosive on the EAD10. Probably because it is far from the mic or partially blocked by the tom.
@JC-uq7tp3 жыл бұрын
Without spending the money, I assume the single stereo drum track from the ead just wouldn’t sit in the mix to my liking due to being just too standalone/out of place since you cant dig into individual pieces of the kit to compress/eq or add a touch of reverb used elsewhere in other tracks of the song on the overheads etc
@drums54343 жыл бұрын
I thought the ead10 sounded really good especially for the price. I’ve know some who actually take their EAD10 recordings and run it through another music editor like Audacity or Reaper. I really didn’t hear much of a difference with using the additional triggers on each drum. I’ve been considering buying one for quite some time. Your studio mics definitely sounded better than the cheaper drum mics. I would like to learn more regarding the ead10.
@jparks48153 жыл бұрын
I totally agree that the additional triggers on the ead10 didn't make a noticeable difference. Did you end up getting the ead10? If so, are you happy with it?

At home I use the Yamaha EAD10 coz you don’t need an interface and computer you just need the EAD10 and your phone so I think it’s great for what it is.

Great video! Even with cheaper direct mics, I've found that you can usually get a nice sound with some corrective EQing, but the condensers are where more of the differences show up. I made a video comparing budget vs. pro mics a while ago with similar findings, but the EAD wasn't out yet. Nice to see how it stacks up!

@6StringsOfSalvation3 жыл бұрын
Where I agree is the studio mic setup was the best for sure I used the Aston origin on miking a drink it before but I only used one and I had it placed on my kick drum. Absolutely magic on a kick drum had sm57 top of snare an audix on the bottom. Two Blue Hummingbirds as overheads and this was the best mic setup I've found to work for.me.
@JDemasi2 жыл бұрын
is there anything you can do to upgrade cymbal sounds using a EAD10? for me, that was the biggest difference. the triggers with the EAD sounded great cymbals were still lacking definition
@matthewg70699 ай бұрын
I think it sounds great for cymbals, but then I really don't like too much or too bright cymbals in a mix.

@skfootit3 жыл бұрын

@Rich-bo8iz3 жыл бұрын
I put my rack tom a littl further left near my hi hat and the audio it picked up was a little less present it will be quieter obviously because it’s further from the mic. Cymbals should be fine tho but anything bigger than a 5pc kit you will just have to hit hard i guess. Ead is worth the price tho its great

I needed this video, thanks for taking the time to put it together!! From the playing and sound perspective, what affect did having triggers on the drums have? Is it worth the investment for them?

No playing/feel difference at all from the triggers, the only change is the additional triggered samples, as shown in the video 🙂

@ericvalero23 жыл бұрын
I hate how thin the toms and how quiet the cymbals sound on the EAD 10, but it is a heck of a value and should really make sharing drum recordings accessible to anyone. I just picked up a 16 channel audio interface and 7 piece mic kit, I’m hoping to have a warm full Tom sound, hopefully it’s worth it!

So the bass drum sounds pretty much the same with the t.bone and the shure mic. I really like the t.bone tom mics but the overheads and the snare are missing some highs. I'm shure this can be all fixed with some good EQing tho. Thanks for the video ^^ Since I'm always broke I needed to know wheter the t.bone mics are good or not

EAD10 only for smaller venues up to about 100 people, cheaper microphones than these cheapest ones I think are hard to find but they do the job for the money, furthermore, studio microphones can be very different from stage microphones, it depends how deep you go into the matter of sound. in practice, it is an unwritten rule that the more expensive hourly rate in the studio is usually equipped with more expensive microphones as well as other equipment. for live performances, a set of microphones such as AKG session 1 or SHURE pga is quite sufficient....by the way..SONTRONICS I find very good for live and studio

Guitar center said they had FIFTY SEVEN on backorder with no expectation of when they would next ship. The Yamahas have nothing. They sound like an I-phone, compressed, distorted and harmonically poor. could see how that would be attractive for contemporary pop music but I would never go there. The T-Bone's have 100x more spectrum. The expensive set at the end is slightly better for the cymbals - more nuance and truth, less stick and more cymbal. The drums sound the same except the kick is better with the cheap kit, though that could be fixed in the mix.
