Great Stuff, I built something very similar a few years ago, 24" FHD Playfeild and 17" 1440x900 BackBox, i had a spare 17" 1280x1024 Monitor, i preferred the wider look for back Everything was spare bits from a couple of Arcade Bartops build's i did, i had to buy MDF. and some alloy trim $50

You do realize if you have a bunch of stuff sitting around that means it didn't cost $50 because you bought the other stuff. Does it feel good to be misleading? You aren't fooling anybody just making yourself look dumb.

This is awesome mate! In Thailand myself and just came across this on FB linked in a group - plan on building a full size widebody this year, just looking at info and stuff I'd need now. Built an arcade cab a year or two back and have some bits and pieces left over from that, buttons, spare encoder etc. could go towards a small version like this, really cool. Screens and stuff can pick up in electronics shop here no? Problem with ordering online (as you probably know) is Thai customs extorting you with mad taxes. :/ Did find that the arcade wasn't a big cost though surprisingly (a few headaches with the DIY!) but the glass/wood and all that is dirt cheap to get done here, main cost was the coin door and stuff like that from aliexpress.
@arnoldj.rimmer51164 жыл бұрын
Hi mate cheers for letting on. If I was making one from new parts you shouldn't have any problems finding the bits locally. For used parts look on kaidee www.kaidee.com/c27-computer/ I get stuff on there regularly with few problems. Ordering from aliexpress to the door should be no import duty for low value items - I don't recall ever having to pay duty though I think there is a value limit but the shippers usually declare items cheap anyway and get delivered to the door. Although Lazada Thailand also have some arcade items and prices are all inclusive even on imported items. www.lazada.co.th/catalog/?q=arcade&_keyori=ss&from=input&spm=a2o4m.home.search.go.1125719ceiu42N sometimes good deals on computer parts but be judicious of course. If you're in Bangkok or Chonburi, IT malls have some good stuff - Tawanna at the Mall Bangkapi, Banana www.bnn.in.th/ and JIB online new stuff jib.co.th/web/ you probably know all these anyway. All the best.

@@arnoldj.rimmer5116 Thanks man, super helpful. For the full size also a lot of it will be from Ali I think yeah, think I only got stung once, most of it was small separate orders so should be ok for the majority. Lock bars and those side bars I was looking at yesterday on various pinball sites, pricey as hell before even thinking about shipping/customs! Might look into getting those fabricated here , can't see it being too difficult, plenty of metal shops around, it's just finding one that won't half-ass it and understand the specs.

Great Video! I will look through your channel. Would like to get details on the cabinet build, and any issues or challenges you had with that part. Was wondering about the pros/cons of not having class over the top - I sort of like the look of your machine without glass.
@arnoldj.rimmer51164 жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin. Link to the latest cabinet plan drive.google.com/open?id=1CuhiEASIHx1IJi5IJr3ieP8uRAdgI0Se I was thinking of putting glass on the top and a thin steel/aluminium surround to it also to give it a cleaner and more authentic pinball look and I might still do that. Unfortunately I'm working away now so it might be a while before I can do more to it. No real problems putting it together at all, apart from it's a small space so check cables don't interfere with fans etc, and the depth allows for the height of your GPU card. Cheers Kevin!

Hey Arnold, I just started making understanding verything regarding Virtual Pinball. Is it still possible to have a setup with those costs? If yes what are the minimum specs to play the games?
@arnoldj.rimmer5116 Жыл бұрын
Hi Tasel, the idea was to make one which worked accepotably, at pretty much the lowest spec and cost at that time. Things might have changed but it's still possible to get this spec for a similar amount. Take a look at this clip I did when sourcing parts for another. You could always start cheap and upgrade if you enjoy it enough. Hope it helps. Let me know how you get on. Cheers! kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqTcn5KvgK5osKc

Would love to try and put together something like this. I have seen a Lenovo m91 series with a 2.40GHz Processor and it comes with a 19 inch monitor for £60, do you think this would be up to the job?
@arnoldj.rimmer51165 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeff possibly mate I can't find the specs for that specific processor but, if it's Dual-Core 2.4GHz, then I'd suggest it's towards the low end of what you need (but could work). If it's like an i3 or i5 at that speed it would be ideal. Monitor size is entirely up to you and dependent on how big you want it - this one is 22" playfield & 17" backglass which match really well! Hope it helps!
@MrJaz80884 жыл бұрын
If you throw a cheap video card ($50) in it and at least 4 gig ram Visual Pinball 9, FX2 Pinball, and Future Pinball will work fine with those spec's as for VP10 & FX3 they might struggle, but a better video card like a GT1030ti (still cheap) and 8 gig ram will fix that, untill you want a Bigger Screen or 4K then $$$$$

Best to have the TV/Monitor for playfeild first, then base it of that, for a better edge-edge fit
@DavidHHH994 жыл бұрын
Looks really cool. But I think that you're massively underestimating how much shipping would cost on ebay. I'd imagine that most people selling items that cheap on ebay would charge the full cost of what shipping costs them (if not more.) I have a hard time imagining those monitors and mini PC shipping for less than $30 each (and likely much more). You can probably find cheaper shipping, but those sellers will likely be charging more for the items. So, you can basically double the costs of the monitors and PC.
@arnoldj.rimmer51164 жыл бұрын
Hi David yes I agree the cost of these specific items could increase if you had to ship, but the intention was to show that the overall costs could be reasonable if you look for components of similar spec/price. Like anything bought used, I'd recommend looking locally so you can check things beforehand personally. Cheers for your feedback!

Hi Clint yes you're right the specs really are pretty much at the extreme of what can run these games. Having said that, FX2 and Pinball Arcade both run great and almost all of the Visual Pinball tables also run with no problems. I was trying to make a point that you don't have to spend the many hundreds or even thousands some do to have fun with one of these. I might make a short clip of actual gameplay to show how well the tables play. Cheers!
