The OBD portion works on any vehicle, not just Porsche, it will read and clear engine related codes on all manufacturers but the additional features only for Porsche.

Porsche also used time or mileage to set these service reminders; I did 30k with only 24k on car. More of the service scam. I bought this product today since I’m out of warranty next month. Nice job!

Can it prime the fuel pump after fuel filter service?
@Otrebor07074 жыл бұрын
My Service 1 is due. Is that the main maintenance reset? My Cayenne Diesel went through all the 60K miles maintenance at the dealership about 7K miles ago. I’ve reset the oil change with my iCarsoft after oil change 3K miles ago. Next maintenance is fuel filter change, which I’ll do on next oil change. Thanks to your videos.

Does this tool clear brake light warning for a 2014 Panamera?
@crazypete37594 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I couldnt bring myself to pay someone to reset a light that the car will not let you reset yourself. its a complete scam! In two or three oil changes this tool will have paid for itself and I will advertise oil light reset services so anyone in my area can have it reset for a fraction of the cost of a dealershit or repair shop.

Will it reset the adblue warning? Mine is not always resetting as it’s supposed to even after the 30 second key on routine as is the only protocol available to me. Regards

Great video, I’m hoping you can help me (991.1 Porsche 911), I have the exact same icarsoft por 2. I had the oil light message like you. So, I reset it with the same procedure you did and it worked, no more “change oil now” message, however, I have a weird incongruent message now in my cars info screen. Basically, my next service is the big 4 year service, however, after the oil message reset it is saying I’m on “service 1”… when it should say I’m on service 4… it’s not a big deal but I’m pretty OCD about it. In the icarsoft menu, you demonstrated the 5 options, reset oil, maintenance something, then maintenance and oil, main service (which I’m guessing means the big year 4 service), then “reset all”. Should I have chosen the another reset option, and not the first one you also did, the one on the top of the screen “oil reset”. Help!

I am pretty sure I do a reset all. Did you try that?
@capitalexotics3 жыл бұрын
@@Fulloctanegarage Thanks for the reply. I did not do a “reset all”, I did the same process as you and what made most sense was to just click on the “oil reset” option, the top of the options on the screen… Entered the date, then says no I’m on service interval 1 in 40,000km or 1 year etc. It’s not a big deal, I know I’m up for service 4 next season but I would just like it to reflect it properly in the menu on the car itself.

@@Fulloctanegarage my bad, I didn’t realize on the info screen, I could flip through the “service” menus… I just scrolled down and it showed my oil change, the proper date and 15,000km (I do it yearly I don’t reach the km limit by the end of the season).

All of these Icarsoft units require a firmware update right out of the box. A reason to read the instructions. A nice unit but fairly poor customer service in my experience.

When dealers use equipment to scan for faults, does their equipment find more things than this device?
@Fulloctanegarage5 жыл бұрын
I am pretty sure it will capture the same amount of faults but the dealer unit will be able to make modifications this one will not be able to.

Do you know if this will support a 2018 Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition for resetting oil/maintenance also?

I have not been able to test it on a 2018, I am thinking it will work but just can not confirm.

Do you think it would be worth a few more dollars to get the newer professional model which says has better up to date software
@Fulloctanegarage5 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on what you plan to use it for. For me this one seems to do everything I need it to plus more. I am typically one of those people who buys the biggest baddest tool in the box but on this one I would buy this one again.

@@Fulloctanegarage That does make sense the reviews scare me a little
@Fulloctanegarage5 жыл бұрын
@@tonyadams09 I was a little worried also but they released a new version of code (I believe in Oct 2018) and If you sort on reviews by recent date the reviews since then mostly look very good, It appears on Amazon the manufacture asked for symptoms to try to help but the bad reviewers did not respond. That seems a little suspicious to me. Where are you located, if you are in the Nashville area we can hook up and you can see how it works for your car. So far I have only tied it on our 2015 Diesel Cayenne but plan to test on other models soon.

It is not fair to call the unit a POS just because it does nor support you car which is a car we never test nor claimed it worked with. Have you called the manufacturer to see if there is a firmware update that might enable your car?
