I loved this build back in the day and am Hyped that it is back. Cannot wait to get my own drift rc car (no budget at all rn). Though this also brings me to another build you 'abandoned', the (budget) Chevy Prerunner. Which was in the works around the same time as the 180SX. Any chance you are going to bring that one back to life as well? Pretty please??

Is there more to this series planned in the future? I'd love to see where this body can go. Opening doors with panels would be awesome!

hi how easy would a rwd drift car be to drive for a beginner to rc drifting
@jerryvolpini79872 жыл бұрын
Please, make this thing a show piece for your channel and go all out! Full interior, door panels, dash, center console, you name it. And that mirror, do it right - paint it and add some chrome foil. That body looks killer, just screams JDM drift car! This project is crying out for detail, give it the attention it deserves and show it some love! 😍.

For the gyro, you have to use a tiny flathead to adjust the limit gain. You can adjust as needed from there

In the last 2 hours, I've watched this build series. Crazy that this video was posted 2 days ago for me. You've convinced me that I need to paint my own body. Cheers from Australia. Subscribed.

You have to set up the end points on the gyro the same way you would on your transmitter. The way you do it differs from gyro to gyro so you’ll have to look in your manual to see how you set endpoints

Foam mats are a great DIY idea for those tight for space and/or places to go. Nice idea and a great video for a beginner to the hobby.

Use a heatgun or hairdryer when applying decals on curved surfaces. It will make the vinyl conform to the surface!

Hold the button down on the gyro as you turn the rc car on lights should blink differently and you can release the button, then turn the wheel all the way to one direction then click the button on gyro, next turn the wheel back to center then all the way the other direction and click the gyro button. This should set the end points for the gyro. If I wasn’t clear above make sure you click the button on gyro as the wheels are full lock or as far as you want them
@rcvikingsnorway59122 жыл бұрын
Your issue with the full lock on the steering with the gyro can be adjusted by having a longer arm from the servo to the steering rack.. I had simular issue on my mst fxxd 2.0s and i got rid of the issue when i lengthen my steering arms a tiny bit

Flip the foam mats upside down. It’s less grippy. Great for drift

You need Micro-Sol decal setting solution and heat to actually dissolve the decal so it conforms to the lenses. I've only seen it done on other videos of model builders. JH-Hobby is a great channel to learn this from what I've seen there. It looks time-consuming to let the stuff dissolve the decal
@stevewatts35022 жыл бұрын
Yeah, no, Micro-Sol works on water slide decals. What he's applied are vinyl stickers, which can be softened with a heat gun ...sadly heat guns and lexan bodies don't mix. Yes, I know, he does keep calling them decals which... is technically/literally true. Seriously, the dude's a 3D printing vertuoso, why's he not cadding some light buckets?🤔

@@stevewatts3502 I thought he used decals. My bad

You should get longer pipes for it and tip ad 20mm nut in engine bay section and secure it will drift better bc of grip in front and weight
@shadxw-te4fe8 ай бұрын
i say just try to keep the front of the car more pointed to the edge of the turn as long as the gyro helps pick up with opposite turning
@SwampersRC2 жыл бұрын
I have no experience with a gyro, but a longer servo horn will give you more steering throw. Velcro can work to hold the door panels.
@ethanvang46282 жыл бұрын
might be a little late but for the gyro, most of the time you need to set the end points on them, just like the motor esc

I was thinking of putting one of those digital volt meters in dash of my bomber. But didn't do it yet. I think it will look great. I was also thinking of using fiber optics. You can buy it for a buck at the dollar store. It's a decoration i guess you could put on your desk or night table. It has one led that blinks all different colors and the fibers are fanned out. But i want to separate the fibers and make tiny holes in the dash. Maybe near the stereo area and the instrument panel. Maybe some red ones in the dash where the evil engine light is. Maybe some blue near the radio etc. Endless possibility's and easy. Just put whatever color at the end of a strand and wrap the led with black tape or heat shrink is better and the color will come out the other side. Just an idea to think about...

I think it's your gyro. The one you have is the SkyRC GC30? It has Automatic Stability Control, that is like tsm on traxxas. I think you need one that has Drift-Assist.

If your able to access drop rates and can increase it through the gyro then you may be able to increase the angle
@theovanni2 жыл бұрын
Are you using the radio link receiver/gyro combo? That might be why. It might be worth trying a dedicated gyro. If you have some drift friends you could see if they could let you use one to verify if that's what it is, or there are some budget options as well. Everything is looking great on the body! I'm curious how you like the side magnets. I see the body tends to pop off easily, do you encounter that a lot? One thing that might help is to recess the magnets to create a cup where the body magnet would fit into instead of just sit on top, then the shear force of hitting a wall would separate the magnets.

a backfire kit for the car would look sick. you plug it into the esc and it pops and backfire's and stuff

Please please please make and sell scale parts for 1/10 scale carpet road racing cars and oval racing cars, like interiors for the RJ speed legend car and interiors for all the other types of oval and onroad cars, exhaust kits, window net kits, and anything else just look up the classes raced at snowbirds and that will give you a idea of what would need to happen to make generic parts that will fit and look right on different bodies and classes for oval and on road cars then look up pictures of the oval cars like legends and asphalt super latemodels is what the Busch and pan car NASCAR bodies resemble most, and Xfinity and NASCAR trucks for the truck bodies and do same for the on road cars
