Nicely done. Looks better with the silver pieces blacked out.

How does the plastidip hold up on the rails? Any update vid?

So far no issues with the plastidip over the winter. I think the real test will be summer sun, heat, and UV. Maybe I’ll make an update video after that. Thanks for watching!

Yes, I have the same runner and want to black it all out. I bought plastidip but have concerns as to how it will hold up and was thinking maybe paint instead..?? Please do update us about how it held up. Thanks for the video

@@amyd6711 I'll make an update video. So far the plastidip on the rear bumper is holding up well. The roof rack has a few scratches, but no peeling or flaking. It sits out in the sun and weather all the time, never in a garage. I honestly feel it's better than paint, and much easier to touch up if needed. I heard of some people spraying plastidip over the chrome logos without masking tape, then peeling it off around the logo. I didn't know that was a thing. Maybe I'll give that a try on the tailgate. If I do, I'll include that in a video.

Yes, I've plastidiped all of my logos, and it does peel away around the logo very nicely. This is why I've been hesitant to use it on the racks, but you have a good point..it will be easy to touch up if need be. Thank you so much for the info! I look forward to the update video. Have a blessed day 😊

Are you eventually going to paint the front valance black? I have the same exact 4Runner and can’t stand the silver valances. I have a blackout kit for the emblems but haven’t installed yet. I’ve also been trying to find some budget running boards to help the dogs get in the back seat. Some of the ones I’ve found have holes on the steps and I know sooner or later one of the dogs will rip off a toenail. Nice job, keeping modifying until you get it perfect for your needs.

I didn’t worry about painting the front valence because I recently installed a CBI front bumper. I made a video on that if you’re interested. Couldn’t be happier with it! After removing the front valence, I personally wouldn’t go through the hassle of removing it to paint it. I’d just mask it off well and spray it in place. I always thought the silver valences were an eyesore. I haven’t done emblem blackout yet. I kind of like the topo or carbon fiber texture to be a bit different. I see what you mean about the running boards and the risk of getting a dog leg or paw wedged in it. I guess you could keep a traction board in your back and use it like a ramp. Dual purpose.
