Does seeing this process make the insides of a transmission less “scary” and want to try it out....or did it just solidify the fact that it’s not something you want to mess with? 😂 Merch link: Stapletonautoworks.com
@krazymann153 жыл бұрын
This is better than doing the actual paper tests and answering questions on how to determine what the fluid flow is based on the trans model and what gear is being selected. The tests are maze puzzles. Shift kits and rebuilds are not too bad. Figuring out how to stuff more friction surface area into the trans and how to make the trans robust is hard (special tools are also a thing). You're helping out A LOT!. Prep and cleaning with a dash of patience goes far.

It's already got a 360 Magnum under the hood with a Hughes Engines cam and ported EQ heads. Built the valve train to handle the extra lift/rpm and installed a Monkey Wrench DTT limited slip rear diff on the stock 3.55:1 rear gear. It's my daily/work truck and I love it. Got working power windows and cold AC and intend on keeping both as I make it a nasty burnouts truck.

Twisting the switch assembly serves to keep the o-rings in place, those membranes are your pressure switches for different circuits. There is also a temperature sensor in that assembly. The hd2 pressure relief valve is mostly for cold temperatures where the pressures can spike and split drums.

Man how you approach your knowledge of something in a fashion that you know "nothing" while obviously having a pretty solid fundamental understanding is awesome. I feel like when someone enters to mindset of "being an expert", they close out the opportunity of learning anything new. That attitude has gotten you far, but I feel like its only the beginning of where you're going. Also, I'll be paying attention on the 80e swap. My poor tow pig has a 60e (listen.. don't ask..), and I just tuned out Torque management, not to mention for whatever reason my dumbass is already eyeballing a small charger to bolt onto it for some "usable power". Needless to say, my 10bolt may end up being a part of a NASA space station and my 60e will probably get so got it melts the case before all is said and one.

I'm in the same boat when it comes to automatic transmissions. I have no idea what kind of Black Magic wizardry goes on inside there. That's why I stick to manuals... BUT My Fummins Excursion has an automatic with a larger trans cooler & larger trans pan for added fluid capacity to keep the temps low because as I'm sure you know, heat kills automatics. Hope you got the shift kit installed successfully. I guess we'll see on your next video on Uncle Rob!!! Don't knock on "sloppy mechanics way" if that's all you got to go on...
