@@trevorcarl9515 I think Tulamore is more of a side-grade. Pretty similar to me. I like both. :) I like trying the base version, then comparing with the different finish versions. It helps me to find notes more easily when comparing like to like. I'm not great at picking out notes. ;P

Love this. Old Granddad 114 & peanuts in the shell is my favorite whiskey & snack combo. Not budget whisk(e)y & snacks Hennessy VS and gummi worms, older peated scotch & dark chocolate: Laphroaig Lore, Ardbeg Uige, Laga 16 being the best for that combo. Extra points if it’s dark chocolate with sea salt. Laphroaig 10 and venison jerky. Wild Turkey 101 and turkey jerky: tasty and funny.

Up north in Canada, Eh!, mainly in Québec, we have 'Maple Leaf' cookies which are....major reveal in 3...2...1... maple sugar flavoured cookies. Those paired with Ardbeg 10...dude...DUDE! Maybe you have those in the States, if so, you know what to do; the paring is just awesome! One of my favorite budget pairings is Oreo Mini’s and any budget Islay scotch, it’s a magical experience. Another interesting one is a lightly peated whiskey with Mountain Dew, I normally won’t drink Mtn Dew but with peat it’s a funky adventure.

I agree, *Peanut M&M's* go with any whiskey. (that was a go to pairing for me and my friends in high school) I also really like jerky, but if i had the option, *pepperettes* instead. (store/butcher bought though, not gas station fake, additive loaded, pepperoni sticks) along with *Frito Lay Pork Rinds* (any brand works) ,regular flavor, not bbq, or if you can still get hickory flavored..mmm...mmm...mmm (also pairs well with most stouts, or pale ales) Mountain Dew and Tequila makes a great poolside/sit in the summer shade relaxing, sippin drink. I used to order the cinnamon rolls at our local diner/dairybar, heated up, with ice cream. (i did it often and had my friends ordering it, that Barry, the owner, put it on the dessert menu, and I did honey buns at home)

I've found a 70% cocoa dark chocolate opens up so many flavours, mainly sweetness. It's my go to 'open upper' an alternative to a splash of water. Also a decent blue cheese can work wonders if dark chocolate isn't your thing, or vice-versa.

So. The honey bun. Microwave? No. Johnny's Big Burger in Clarksville TN serves a grilled honeybun, cooked under a bacon press on the flat top grill. A scoop of ice cream over the caramelized bun completes the World Famous dessert. Truly the game changer in cheap pastry perfection.

My optimal cold meat pairings for some Islay whiskys, have yet to try smoked Salmon and eel. Lagavulin 16, carpaccio -no sweetness, meat flavour, allows some space for the complexity of a 16yo Islay Caol Ila 12, black forest ham - juniper and coriander spice, smoky, complements the somewhat lighter, sweeter and fruitier character Ardbeg An Oa -Jamon iberico or similar. Sweeter, less smoky, extremely "heavy mouthfeel" Laphroaig 10- Salami with Juniper
