@@ConferenciaAvivanos Hi. As I go to places where I can't rely on a good monitor mix (I particularly need my vocals and guitar) I split my vox Mic XLR with a Radial passive splitter and also use a Radial mix 2:1 passive mixer (for my guitar and vox the 'out' from the 2:1 is the radio transmitter) and then I have my own perfect little monitor system and my guitar and vox go straight to FOH. If I am playing with others who don't have IEMs I often just put one IEM in one ear. I need all the help I can get with a voice like mine!!!!!

@@keithsmith214 Hi Keith. The signal sent to the left and right 'ear piece' of an IEM or set of headphones is identical when using this system as it is a mono system. If it was a stereo unit, you could pan different instruments within the stereo field using an external mixer etc. and send that stereo source to the unit. With this system any received signal, stereo or otherwise will be summed to mono. Some people prefer certain instruments voices etc. to be over to the left side and other instruments to the right to improve their monitor experience. You can't do that with this system. Hope that helps.
@dcrehearsalstudios
@dcrehearsalstudios 2 жыл бұрын
@@keithsmith214 just means nothing is panned. for example, backtrax are delivered in stereo so the sound engineer can run one side of just music in front of house (foh) and run both L and R to in ear monitors so musicians can hear the click and cues. in your ears "not stereo" youll hear everything evenly with no panning.

Thank you for doing these videos!! We’re (my daughter and I) just now started buying our own sound equipment so we can use our own when we sing together at events etc all over north Florida. It’s hard to figure out what all we need for our setup. But we found your channel tonight so hopefully we can figure out through your videos what we need to buy to use with what we already have to complete our setup.

Real-world usage review :) I was ministering at a church, and for choir rehearsal, they had over 40 people using this system (I think 4 people shared a transmitter), and there wasn't one dropout. It was weird because it was super quiet in the building because the house sound was off, and I was also teaching from in-ears. During service, they had 12 praise singers using the system and about 400 people in the church. That's what they had been doing for about a year, and they said they never have problems. So I understand the data, but in this case, I've seen it work. It's kinda cool because each person purchased their own receiver to help the church transition to wireless IEM. Just thought I'd share a positive real-world usage :) Would I suggest it for a band or a really involved worship leader? Probably not because a stereo signal is really important. But, for 98% of praise team singers, I think it's fine.

I tried one of these out Sunday morning at church during rehearsal. I was skeptical about reception and range since I had it plugged in the back of our x32 about 60 ft away and didn't have a direct line of sight with the receiver due to part of the sound booth wall. However, everything sounded great! It worked so well I decided to go ahead and use it during worship instead of switching back to my Sennheiser (which is in the "illegal" frequency range now!). We had about 150 people there for worship, but the XVive did just fine. The volume knob takes a little while to get used to but other than that, no complaints. I'd like to be able to get the receiver closer to stage. Can I route it to my digital snake on stage? Also, what kind of cable to I need to go between the line adapter and the receiver so I could place it out of sight but close to me on stage? Thanks for your great videos!
@AndyBleach

You may well have worked this out by now but I would think you should be able to route the signal you're sending to this, to your digital snake box if that snake has outputs on it. Our Qu24 allows us to configure which outputs get sent to the 8 outputs on the digital snake. You'll just have to find the right menu to assign signals.

Or is this the most convenient, and effective way to use in-ear monitors on a live stage for a professional gig?? I want the best possible way to use in-ear monitors on stage regardless of price. Seems like a hassle to grab the transmitter(s) from your floor box every service, take it to the booth to charge, bring it back to the floor box and re-plug. I'm always concerned about the wireless frequencies and potential interference in the frequency bands we we use. We use wifi for remote control of the Behringer X32 board, and we are also running wireless mics in the same 2.4Ghz band. These would be an option if they play nice with the other WiFi devices.

I can confirm I’ve used these Xvives in our system we have a Soundcraft Si Impact, and several 2.4ghz wireless mics. There was a lot of interference on both the Xvives signal and wireless mics signal unfortunately. Now I was using these with the transmitters connected directly into the soundboard (about 60ft away from the worship team and receivers), so I can’t speak for it if you used it with the transmitters closer connected to the stage box like Jake tested it. But for our setup, it didn’t work that well. Hope this info is helpful for you! God bless

Yes! You will ned a 1/8" TRS inch cable to stereo (two TS cables). Usually the left is running the main mix for the house and right is for Mix + clicks, could be the other way around. You can will need to run box mixes to the board. The one with the clicks you can mute to the house and adjust volumes only for Sends(personal mixes).
@AdamSpenceVC
@AdamSpenceVC 4 жыл бұрын
@@emanueldiaz7148 Negative. You can't split a mono mix back into a stereo mix. It's a mono send (i.e. it sends the same signal to both your left and right ear.) You can't separate out different parts of that signal (click, instruments etc.) after the mono send, no matter how many splitter cables you use. The source signal is mono therefore the end signal is mono. You can convert stereo to mono, not mono to stereo

Hey, incase you haven't found an answer yet, no you can't do 6 mixes with 1 transmitter. You'll need an extra transmitter for each individual mix, up to 6. You can however have 4 (maybe more?) receivers all getting the same mix from 1 transmitter. If you have SATB for example, you'll probably want 4 transmitters, unless you have very skilled vocalists. Hope that helps!

Several times when we got to the last song of the service my battery was daed. Imagine trying to play with the click and tracks that you can't hear. Xvive advertises 5 hour battery life, but i would say lass than 2 hours. I have tried to contact Xvive and never got an answer. This product does not deliver as advertised.

This could be a problem only if everyone in the audience brought his wifi router from home. There are 13 (in some countries 14) 2.4 ghz channels. These transmitters use 1-6. Only if there is a wifi router using one of them you can expect some interference.

Reasons you should never buy this or trust this review: 1. This video is an ad 2. The XVive operates in the 2.4ghz band. You get a room full of people with the wifi on their phones going and it definitely won't work. 3. It has 6 channels. That only means you get 6 mixes if there is absolutely nothing else going on in the RF environment that may be on the same frequency as one of the channels. That's hardly enough channels to gamble on one of them working in a real world environment, let alone six. 4. No replaceable battery. If you forget to charge it, you're out of luck. Can't just throw a AA or 9V in there. 5. There's no room in either the transmitter or receiver bodies to fit a quarter or half wave antennae. This will produce sub-optimal RF results. 6. The orientation of the transmitter body in relation to the receiver body is wrong. Parallel antennas offer the best results. 7. Lots of people put their I/O box in a rack, so you're essentially sticking an antenna inside a faraday cage. 8. Just because you don't hear latency doesn't mean there isn't any, and that the latency isn't affecting your performance. Anything above 2-3ms will start affecting a singers ability to track pitch, even though you won't hear any audible flamming. I'd love to see an actual latency test done. Bet it wouldn't pass. Buy PSM300 or Sennheiser G4 (and better) or don't buy at all. This video didn't feature a latency test, real world conditions reliability test, RF range test, RF report to determine intermod characteristics, any information about the tech being implimented, or any real critical examination of the product. It's an affiliate video, to make money. Don't waste your $230 on this thing, and stay wired until you can afford something reliable.

So much #2. I tried using the Xvive UC3 to make our wired mics wireless (4 of them). Worked great in practice and rehearsal but we started getting dropouts during the service. After a couple of weeks of constant dropouts I started digging and realized that is exactly what happened - the room filled up with cell phones and tablets grabbing wifi and ... well yeah. Best bet, get an RF solution, because as with most tech - you get what you pay for.

Hi Hunter, everything you say here is accurate in terms of facts and there are better systems out there, of course!!!! However, my experience with this unit is that it works perfectly for my needs. I have never had any dropouts in the entire time I have used it, latency is definitely not a problem for me, and for a budget unit I would highly recommend it. Interestingly there have been lots of positive reviews for this unit and I concur. I have played in bands with audiences in excess of 16K and whilst I would definitely not rely on a unit like this for large stage environments for the kind of average size environments I often play in, it works just fine. Kind regards, Bernie.

As a computer and sound engineer I can without a doubt tell you that you have no idea what are you talking about. |2 and 3| Google how wi-fi works first and then talk about interference. No matter how many people use their phones they can only use the wi-fi channel which the router uses. There are 13 channels. These transmitters use 1-6. If the routers you use are configured to work on 7-13 there is no amount of phones that can interfere. 5. The 1/4 wavelength of 2.4GHz is 31.23mm. Do you really think it's impossible to fit antenna? |6 and 7| ...yes ...or you could just use a cable to place the transmitter wherever and however you want?!? 7. A human's brain take a few milliseconds to process the information so we're actually lagging behind constantly and don't think there's something discomforting in using these. Also absolutely every DAC has some latency. I'm not throwing away my Allen & Heath QU32 because you told me that latency is a silent killer. I think you're just some old guy who gets butthurt every time something new comes up.
