Infant formulas also contain Aluminium as the anti-caking agent (as will all milk/cheese powders and perhaps other powdered products), so everyone needs to take SILICA to detox the Alu. Otherwise you'll gradually get neurodegenerative diseases such as Dementia etc. See Prof Exley's work.

It tastes better too, especially if you can get organic milk that is just pasteurised and not homogenised too as that boils all the goodness out. I like to buy raw when I can but it's not often possible.

Over the past 8 years or more, it can also be what they are adding to fodder crops, which then enter both the animal and the food chain, then to be consumed. It happened initially with Aminopyralid contamination of compost, then a more recent experiment in Germany where altering the fodder crop fertiliser (from conventional to soy based) led to renal failure in the cattle in the breeding herd that consumed the fodder. The V. and other technologies allow the potential for matters to cross from animal to crop to person - a future concern.

I can't thank you enough for all you do Kerry, if it hadn't been for you i'd probably never have understood what the difference between "normal" milk and organic milk actually is... thanks to you i've tried a few organic whole milks and omg Grahams Organic Whole Milk has blown me away and is my new normal now, leaving aside Bovaer, it's unhomogenised which required a level of research to know what that meant... lets just say, it takes me back to my primary school days in the 60's where milk always had the cream at the top and as you drank it rings of cream would form down the inside of the bottle. I'd forgotten how delicious milk should be.

One thing to be aware of, some shops have the word 'farm' in their address. They then open a random shop using the name of the shop added to their 'farm' address giving the impression that it comes from a farm. Say, I lived in a place called 'wigglesfarrm', then I opened a shop and called it 'wiggles farm shop' - it would be a conventional shop (with inflated prices), abusing the farm shop brand that sources most produce from local/ honest growers. I have seen this done by those eager to capitalise on the momentum.

The big supermarkets are pushing the Bovair cow fed milk. The smaller supermarkets not so much and your local farm shop is highly unlikely to be Bovair cow fed milk. Support the smaller businesses, even if it costs a little bit more. The only way the big supermarkets are going to take any notice is when there sales and profits go down.

Coop organic milk (Muller) isn't backed by the soil association so I'm a bit dubious. I've phoned coop every other week since the use of Bovaer was exposed in November, I'm still waiting for a reply on their use of Bovaer😤 their customer service team always play dumb. Staff in the coop say all coop branded dairy is Bovaer free which is a complete lie! Their own brand cheese is Pilgrim's choice, a subsidiary of Ornua who are advocating Bovaer quote "getting rid of Bovaer is not an option" You are doing an amazing job 🎉x

Making your own butter is very easy (and cheap) but you will probably need to get the right kind of full creamy milk direct from a local dairy.

I commend Freshways for labelling their milk clearly as additive free, I now see their milk in a broader range of shops. I will support them for their excellent standards both in animal welfare and accountability to consumers. I know that in most of our local supermarkets, which may not be as large as the ones you visited, organic milk is rarely stocked. In the shops that do stock organic milk, only one or maybe two rows of organic milk are on the shelves, in most cases there is none.

I'm getting milk delivered from Mills Dairy in Ayrshire plus Graham's Milk from the supermarkets. It's a good to have a back up if either source runs out. I drink a lot of milk 👍.

@@budgetcookingukGood Morning Kerry. Yep, sunny Saltcoats and the beach is still the same and the Kandy Bar is still selling gorgeous cakes 😂👍. I've lived in nearby Irvine since 1967. Saltcoats was buzzing when I was a kid. I loved the fairground and I got stung by a jellyfish when I was having a paddle 😂, but some candyfloss and a ice cream cured it 🤣👍

Yesterday I was in a local Morrisons store and my husband was looking at pre-packed steaks next to the Butcher counter. He found some steak labelled "LOW EMISSION MEAT"!! There was no explanation we could find and I asked the butchers what it meant. They had no idea as the pre packed meat came direct from Morrison's warehouse/suppliers? I explained to them about Bovaer being put, UNLABELLED, into our food supply. They were pretty horrified. I have noticed that in every supermarket where I have questioned the staff, they are completely ignorant about Bovaer. My husband contacted two cheese brands and we are happy to report that SNOWDONIA CHEESE who make the fabulous BLACK BOMBER and BELTON FARMS, who make RED FOX, Red Leicester cheeses are both BOVAER FREE!!

Thank you sooo much for this... I think Yorkshire creamery is also Bovaer free as their small Yorkshire farms and Dales suppliers don't use the additive. But thanks for heads up on 'low emission meat' in the current climate of Beaver additives...definitely sounds suspicious and I for one would steer clear. Doesn't surprise me that the large supermarkets staff know little or nothing about their produce. Should imagine that the Farm shops are much more informed.

We have been buying organic milk since this Bovaer story hit the news and we (me and hubby) have noticed that the organic milk now seems to be selling out faster in our village’s small Asda. The organic milk may be more expensive, but we have definitely noticed a difference in taste. We buy the semi skimmed and it seems to have a creamier taste to it than the normal semi skimmed we used to buy. I do think the labelling should clearly identify if the milk is from cows feed with Bovaer.

We buy our milk and cream from a local farm which is B free, I have started making yoghurt & butter from that, next is to have a go at the cheese, we already make our own bread, just don't trust the supermarkets anymore. Love your videos, thank you for all you do, keep up the great work.❤

@@RND-x8m goats milk is what I'll drink if Starmer mandates Bovaer on all cattle eventually but I'm not going to scaremonger because things often change and it's often not what we predicted. Arla are taking a big hit at the moment. They won't be happy. They'll be regretting what they've taken on.

Managed to find Cornish Creamery milk in M&S today which is Bovaer free also as you say there are lots of local dairies which supply milk vending machines around us in Devon and double,bonus in bottles so no plastic. Thanks Kerry for this a lot of work very grateful.😊

Much appreciated. It makes things so much simpler to write down if you go one product at a time like this. There does seem to be a variation at Lidl. We appear to have a Jersey cow milk here in our one, which I bought this week and thought absolutely delicious. Also, despite my area being almost completely locked down by Arla (massive Arla cheese factory just a few miles down the road....grrr), a local farmer has just put up a bright, shiny, new sign pointing the way to his farm. This is quite unusual behaviour in our quiet, retiring neighbourhood, so this might suggest help for a postman with poor navigational skills, or possibly a farm selling direct. Will have to follow it up and see what goes on. Have sat through some frankly appalling ads as a thank you for doing this.

I personally live in a rural enough area that I've just started buying milk locally. Man drives down the street and delivers them in bottles like the good old days. It IS a bit more expensive but you get some money back when you wash and return the bottles. Buy local if you can.

Correct...yet responsibility for this is down to the consumer..... Kerry has alerted and her research is commendable but the rest is surely up to us. It will be impossible to completely avoid the contamination of Bovaer and just try to minimise it...unfortunately now in the food chain.

I went to my local Tesco express this morning, they don’t stock organic so I bought the finest Jersey milk, I thought I would be adventurous and try the goat milk that they stock as well for an extra option. Didn’t think I would like it but it is actually lovely!!!

You're a star 🌟 I also bought organic dairy whenever I could over the years cos those farms only give antibiotics to the cows if its absolutely necessary. They dont give hormones to the cows either ( often given to keep the intensive milking/ farming going but def not good for growing children ). The Soil Assoc have been around for about 25 yrs now, checking the organic farms to make sure they comply with their rules.
