I bought some ready made cheese twists recently and I wondered if the homemade version would be cheaper. So I have made some Airfryer cheese twists and have compared the costs against the ready made version, all in the cost breakdown which you can pause if you fancy.
hope you enjoy...

Nice video & well done. I have made these a lot since getting the Air Fryer, "Tiny Tip"...Obviously more cheese inside as you mentioned, but also either use egg wash on the top's or melted butter, with some more cheese on the tops, you will love em😉👍👏

Adding about a 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of dried mustard powder to the cheese mix will help bring out the flavour of the cheese more. I would plump for a nice tasting cheddar to go into the mix as I find Parmesan can be a bit bland on it's own but good when mixed with other cheese varieties.
@budgetcookinguk

Top tip Emily👍thank you, I have mustard powder as well👌a few of you have said cheddar instead and I am inclined to agree! Next time, will use cheddar and do the mustard powder addition 😃👍👍

I used to grate cheese on top of the ones I used to do for our boys years ago, but used cheddar before cooking. They were their favourite. I did also use cheddar inside but more of it with a little mustard. I don’t think Parmesan melts well.

Hi Kerry you are a jack of all trades i watched the post at the allotment would it be possible for you to get some boards and make raised beds it makes it easier to work the plot keep a patch for a compost pile my mrs watched it with me and laughed when she saw the wheel barrow in the car 😀✋

Your mrs would have had a right laugh if she'd seen me trying to get the wheelbarrow into the car🤣 the neighbours must have wondered what I was up to lol, reminiscent of john cleese and fawlty towers. Why didn’t you place the cheese straws in the air fryer on the parchment paper,Is that an option ❤️❤️❤️
@jonjones.
@jonjones. Жыл бұрын
It is an option but the idea is that the air circulates underneath the crisper plater to cook the bottom so by using parchment paper you are blocking the holes so it wouldn’t cook as well and would require turning more often.
@budgetcookinguk
@budgetcookinguk Жыл бұрын
It probably is an option Patricia 👍 but I kind of feel that putting something like parchment or a liner will slow down cooking, food seems to cook better if the air is allowed to circulate. 😃👍

@@patriciadefreitas6191aww no problem at all Patricia, you're wise to do your research👍💕 I cook everyday using my ninja AF451 (same size as AF400) the af300 is just a bit smaller by a few litres. The af300 perfect for 2 but if you're going to occasionally cook for 4 then the AF400 or AF451 would be perfect (the only difference between the 2 is the AF451 has an integral probe and a different front panel. Size wise exactly the same) 2 drawers is the key, I do a chicken in one, roasties in the other. While chicken is resting i pop in the stuffing balls into that Drawer. I do have to rotate the roasties as ones at the top cook quicker than ones at the bottom, near the end I threw in the Yorkshire made before I put the roasties into Drawer 2. Reheating food, its amazing and quick, pastries amazing, pies etc 👌. I sold lots of unwanted toot on Facebook marketplace to offset the cost. Atb Kerry😃👍💕
