Ingredients: Parsnips & carrots, as much as you want or need 1 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp Rosemary or Thyme knob of lard or *goose/duck fat *going large christmas style salt & pepper to taste Honey Glaze: 1 tbsp Wholegrain Mustard big knob of butter 1 tbsp honey half a lemon juice or 1 tbsp vinegar Pop honey glaze ingredients into a bowl, and set aside. In a large bowl, add the par boiled carrots/parsnips, chopped rosemary or herb of your choice & 1 tbsp olive oil and mix.. Heat a tsp of lard/duck/goose/olive oil into the basket for a few mins, add par boiled parsnips/carrots to the basket and put on ROAST 190C/370F for 25mins. Keep an eye but try to not stir til about half way through to maximise roastiness. Once you’re happy (as timings depend on quantity) Set aside and allow to completely cool before popping in a food grade plastic bag (bread bags are ideal) and pop in the freezer til needed. Alternatively just eat straight away! To reheat after freezing, pop 1 tsp of preferred fat into basket, and heat. You may have to break apart frozen Carrots & parsnips ( do this gently) and pop into basket, cook for about 6+ minutes - again this depends on quantity. Keep an eye while cooking, adding fresh herbs if desired - timings again depend on quantity.

OMG Kerry another great video. I absolutely love roasted carrots and parsnips and to be honest Kerry I really don’t know how you stopped yourself from eating them all, great willpower 😂. When I freeze items to stop them sticking together I lay them out on a baking tray and freeze them then bag them up. Good to also see that your subscribers are going up, and why shouldn’t they as it’s a great channel and presenter. Keep the content coming.

Thanks to air fryers even idiots like me, with a lifelong fear of ovens, are now turning out roast dinners, cakes, pastries and puddings like we’d studied at cookery college! I love the roasted parsnips and carrots. I didn’t know you could take the tray thing out so mine have tended to dryness, but I prefer your method of letting them sit in that gooey unctiousness of natural juices and the glazing. Can’t wait to try that when I do my next roast, thanks for all these tips!

Thanks Kerry, I'm drooling now. Not a carrot fan (unless it's carrot cake) but I love parsnips. I think I'll do these, some with and some without the glaze in case the grandkids don't like it. I'm so glad you mentioned Brussels sprouts as I was talking to your vlog, as I often do, saying "please do some sprouts". Can't wait. X

Evening Kerry, thank you so much for showing us how easy it is to be that wee bit more prepared for the big day if we are using the Air fryers more. This is something i would never have done but im going to clear a drawer in the freezer and get things made next week. Also going to make the soup and freeze it. What a shame you have had to taste those twice 😂😂. Good job Kerry. Well done. Xxx Jac 💚 ♥️

Look great Kerry. I’d do the same I did with the roasties and fast freeze on a parchment paper lined baking tray for a couple of hours before bagging them up. That stops them clumping together.

I've been use oil sprays for years and always wondered why my "roast" veg and potatoes left me unimpressed. We get brow beaten into the thoughts of the health freaks...anyways, last weekend I'd had enough and decided life's too short. Par boiled carrots, parsnip and potatoes all done in the Ninja with a knob of lard. Perfect (even without glazes). Back to enjoying tasty food and not worrying about a little fat! Thanks for your vids..they're a great help.

Beef dripping is far nicer. And honestly animal fat for cooking is far healthier than using seed oils. Plenty of information available these days. I binned oils a few years ago and solely use beef dripping. I enjoy full fat dairy and eggs. It’s the carbs, sugar and seed oils that cause us most issues. Anyways nice to see people going back to more traditional cooking ways. Tesco sell Britannia beef dripping 250g block for £1.25. Not all stores sadly, I have to travel to a larger tesco. But worth it 😊

Hi Kerry, that was brilliant. Will definitely be raising a glass of two to you as we enjoy them at Christmas. Looking forward to seeing the Brussels. I have 10 for our dinner and the day before, they all stay over for 2 nights, we went out for a walk when I had a nasty fall, I face planted the road🤦 My son in law and daughter in law both stepped up and took over all the cooking. He's a chef & a week both had done 900 Christmas dinners🙄 It was fantastic, he hadn't used an af before, guess who was conferted😂 Thank you so much for doing that for us and you're a hero having to do all that tasting, bless your heart😉 See you on the next one, byee 👋Jen 💕😘xx

Hi Kerry, i love roasted carrots but not parsnips plus i don't like brussell sprouts. They looked nicely done. When i've done roast potatoes and frozen what i had left, when i've reheated them they always taste warmed up, but I did reheat them in the microwave, mebbe that was the problem. I've just ordered a job cover like yours, it's coming Friday. I tried doing it through your link but it wouldn't let me

They look great. My husband doesn’t like parsnips but I could do this and just take out a couple or so bits for me for Sunday roasts with no waste 😃. I’m definitely doing potatoes and parsnips, and some roast carrots (my husband will try the carrots but he likes boiled really which we will do too) for this Christmas as family are coming and they are so quick to reheat, 6 minutes 🤷🏻‍♀️no brainer. Thank you for these videos and all the hard work including all that taste testing 😂😂. ❤

Ooo I usually do carrots with my roast potatoes on sundays but do not parboil them (same size generally as parsnips) and they turn out absolutely fab. I wouldn't parboil as they are in for longer with potatoes and being a lot smaller might cook too quickly if par boiled with the pots. Parboil if cooking on their own👍👍same temp, time is relative depending on quantity but around 20ish mins. Hope that helps Marilyn😀💕👍

Why did you buy the Cosori when you had the large dual ninja? And why do you stir the Cosori when it says you don’t need to? Which do you like best?
@budgetcookinguk
@budgetcookinguk 7 ай бұрын
I was gifted the cosori, and sometimes you just need to stir or move food about even in the cosori, it's not a 'never need to stir' AF just a bit less than AFs with just a top element. That's a toughie, I really like both but absolutely love the cosori 2 elements one at the bottom and the top.

@@nelliejames you definitely need some sort of oil, parboiling isn't as important. I dont parboil my carrots if I'm bunging them in with my par boiled potatoes but I did parboil for 5 mins when I roasted just the parsnips and carrots together. Have another go with a drizzle of olive oil or even a knob of lard which is cheap but produces great results for roasted veg. Next time you'll nail it. I had loads of failures when I first started using AFs💪😀👍💕 always keep an eye and stir halfway thru
