Your series, no matter which vehicle it is for, are always excellent! Do you have a grease that you use that applies to most applications?
@BudgetRC_Channel5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! For most of my vehicles, I use wheel bearing grease.

I have been in RC for 25 yrs and I am a bit picky about quality soooooo, I would recommend Vanquish brand synthetic gear grease... It is hands down the best grease for gears and open bearings as well..... It does not break down hardly at all even if the gearboxes and/or axles are submerged in water or mud when your havin a little bit of water fun.... cheers

So the bearing that comes out , do you re use the bearing? Or delete it
@BudgetRC_Channel9 ай бұрын
What bearing? Sorry, it's been years since I touched this truck. I don't think I remember deleting any bearings though.

Did you ever add a slipper clutch if so where did you get one. Thinking of seeing if SCX10 II slipper clutch setup will fit . I put a 3-cell 75c in and blew out my plastic trany gear in my gen7 Pro and bent a rear axle within 10 minutes before that I ran 3 hours with the 2s no issues. I will definitely be putting the metal gears in the transmission I'm still concerned about the axles bending easily don't think aluminum lockers on the rear tubes would help that because the plastic flexes on the rear housing would prefer to have a slipper clutch to protect my drivetrain so I can run 3 cell. Thanks for the videos I look forward to hearing from you about the slipper clutch.
@BudgetRC_Channel6 жыл бұрын
No, I never ended up adding one. My driving style consists mostly of trailing and some light rock crawling. I don't hammer the trucks like I do with my bashers, so nothing is breaking. Now that metal trans gears are available, I think the slipper is less important. From the sounds of it, you're a lot harder on the truck than I am, so in your case, it might not be a bad idea to consider finding a slipper option.

Budget RC thank you for the quick response I wasn't bashing the truck that much I was using a lot of wheel speed trying to hop over a pretty big tree so all the weight was on the rear that's what I think bent the axle and then what blew the gear out I believe it got hooked on a rock with wheel speed with that 3s trying to get up a hill I'm going to see if that SCX10 slipper will fit I will let you know if I find slipper that works thank you

@@gabrielheinsch6479 I will pretty much guarantee the reason the gearbox gears got trashed wasnt due to your driving style, it was due to the fact I have opened about 20 diff Redcat gen7 and everest 10 gearboxes and ALL of them were dry BRAND NEW from the hobby store.... So yeah redcat needs to get back on the ball and at least attempt to assemble the gearboxes with some type of grease...

How did everything fit into the axle housing were there any shims in there by chance?
@BudgetRC_Channel6 жыл бұрын
I don’t recall there being any shims, but I don’t remember.

Hey just a heads up, the part number for the cva axles in the description is wrong. Side note, anybody need any HSP 188015 axles? lol
@BudgetRC_Channel4 жыл бұрын
The lockers are HSP 180009, as shown in the description. Here's a link to them www.amazon.com/180009-18009-Orange-Alum-Connect/dp/B0755XKYDB

The axles are 188015, also as shown in the description. I'm not sure where the mistake is?

@@BudgetRC_Channel 188015 are the wrong axles. 13849 is the correct PN for the gen 7 pro axles.

Do you know where to find a good inexpenive radio system for a crawler my AX10s receiver kicked the bucket it was 27 megahertz so i planed to update anyway if you need to see it its on my channel Wiley Riley RC
@BudgetRC_Channel7 жыл бұрын
Wiley Riley RC, I would suggest the Flysky GT2B (or whatever they're up to now... GT2C maybe?). It's essentially a 3 channel version of the controller that comes with the Gen7, but also adds a rechargeable lipo battery, all for about $25. I have them on 2 trucks and they work great. I even rigged my son's Circuit to have the 3rd channel toggle some police lights on and off. I'll grab the link to that video and post it here.
