So my gen7, also silver (thank you sir!) Just arrived yesterday right? I pulled the front tires off and got ready to get to work on the steering "upgrades" and wouldn't you know? Nothing you mentioned is even doable lol. The bumps stopping the throw - gone from factory. The steering link? Nice bent to it and never touched the pumpkin. The dogbones coming out of cups when throw is too hard? They fixed that too! I'm fairly certain Redcat saw your video and fixed these things in like a new revision or something lol. You mentioned shen rc and his suspension link tips? The stock geometry is perfect! STOCK this monster gets almost 6in of "flex" from the bottom of the tire to the ground on 3 wheels. And they fixed the driveshaft issue too! I'm impressed! Long story short, YOU are the reason I picked this model over all the other options on the market and minus the weak servo, I am a happy camper! Thanks man! Great stuff

Great video. Like how you did the work off camera and showed the before and after. Good upgrades. Gonna watch the next two now. Thinking about picking one of these up.

I would. I found out it's a crawler, not a bash truck. After 2:weeks I took off the front and rear bumper, it was always hanging up on rocks. Bent a front axle the first week due to misuse. The differential gears are metal not plastic, and mine were well greased from the factory. Just crawling it should last years. I will be cutting the fenders out more as they hit the tires on full droop. Happy customer.

Great video, I know it's older but, I'm a builder & own few plastic bodied RC's tho 1 that I do is a Gen 7 Sport. Very cool ya'll are doing these mods, I always enjoy seeing what other Builders are doing & modding. Just very few do anything with Gen 7's & wanted to say thanks! Many will find this very interesting I'm sure as ya'll do great work Brother.

Hi I’m a newbie to this hobby and I’m thinking of purchasing a rock crawler is Redcat a good brand?
@BudgetRC_Channel7 жыл бұрын
This vehicle is the only Redcat that I have any experience with, but so far I'm very happy with it. It's a lot of fun to drive, and I enjoyed it even before I made any of my upgrades. Check out my initial review to get an idea of what you can expect right out of the box. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZ-mepWVlJWabJY

Redcat is as god a brand of R/C as any in its price range.

how man did you do the front shocks the same as the back or only back?
@BudgetRC_Channel6 жыл бұрын
I only did the back. They seemed a lot stiffer than the front.

OK cool just making sure thanks for the info!

Turning around the rear tower when you relocated the rear shocks...didn't change the relation of the body posts to the holes in the body?
@BudgetRC_Channel7 жыл бұрын
David Fox, there are 3 sets of holes on the shock tower, and 2 on the body mount. Turning it around keeps the post centered but moves the attachment points.

I'm sorry but counter sinking the screws seems like a whole lot of work for not much benefit. Is it really worth it?
@BudgetRC_Channel5 жыл бұрын
Yes. Dragging those screws over rocks gets the truck hung up. It took 10 minutes to do, so I absolutely feel like it was worth it.

I need to know what servo horn, thats not plastic, that will work with the gen7 ....thanks!
@BudgetRC_Channel5 жыл бұрын
Any standard servo horn with the appropriate tooth count for your servo. The stock servo and most (but not all) aftermarket servos use a 25 tooth "futaba" style output shaft.

Can the battery be upgraded to a larger one for longer use time
@BudgetRC_Channel5 жыл бұрын
Of course. The ESC has a jumper for Lipo use, and can use 2S or 3S.

What is the best battery to run for a good long run time
@BudgetRC_Channel5 жыл бұрын
The bigger the better if runtime is what you want, just keep in mind that the bigger they get, the heavier they are. 5000mah is the largest 2S that I ran, and with it I could run for 2-3 hours. A 3000mah weighs a lot less and can still last for 1-2 hours.

What is the speed of this remote control car?
@BudgetRC_Channel5 жыл бұрын
Slow. It's a crawler. 5mph maybe?
@曾俊-u7z5 жыл бұрын
@@BudgetRC_Channel It's really too slow
@BudgetRC_Channel5 жыл бұрын
@@曾俊-u7z too slow for what? It's actually faster than a lot of crawlers, and on 3S is even faster. It only needs to be fast enough to have the momentum necessary to get over certain obstacles. It's not intended to be a Slash.
