I can also testify that the Serrada style of Escrima changed my life. But more that that, I have to give credit to my instructor, Mike Inay, in that he served as an inspiration to me, and was central in my development as a martial artist in what I would characterize as a no-nonsense, military grade approach to FMA. You could say that I'm a direct descendent of Mike Inay, who is a direct descendant of Angel Cabales. I trained under Mike Inay for about eight years personally and privately in his backyard at his home in Los Gatos, California. That said, I am intimately familiar with the Serrada style and the Inayan System of Eskrima that he founded along with Angel Cabales and Max Sarmiento as his primary instructors. I have met both Angel and Max as they have made appearances at Mike's home. My key point is that the Serrada style of Escrima has been as much a life-changing experience for me as it has for so many others fortunate enough to learn this incredible martial art of the Philippines.
