As a woman, the one aspect of this very special lifestyle is the connection with spirituality to the physical & metaphysical body through mind. Mind is not brain, we are not body, we are souls, mind, spirit, the power within us all, is of greatness, but few have channeled it because they are too grounded in materialism & that makes us weak. These people have never lost their true identity and never strayed from their true path, they are as near to their nature as one can be, through Buddhism & nature with respect for all life they show us all that we are strong when we find ourselves within x

@@recoveringsoul755 wouldn't you? My husband met and trained under a monk who got out of Laos by changing into common clothes instead of his priest garbs and walked out of the country. Past mounds made of shaolin skulls by Potts army during the "cleansing". This man made it to America finally and ended up here in a small town in the Foothills of the Appalachian Mountains for a few years. He agreed to train about a dozen or a bit more. He went light on them since they were mostly middle teen years to start. After about 3 years I think my husband said, he stopped. He said Americans too soft and started too late. Lol! My husband hated loosing him as a teacher but honestly had to agree. Soon after the man moved on to California with a wife and started a very upscale restaurant. No idea how or where he is now. But the stuff on the vid, some is completely real and accurate, some embellished here and there but still real. Any trade school and moving up those ranks, all military, any position that requires training and expertise even musicians and artists. You don't know anyone? Maybe you're speaking about yourself. Even looking for a job is a goal of importance with many steps involved. Learning a language, planning a trip, losing weight, gaining muscle, home repairs or remodeling, growing a garden. Anything unless you do absolutely nothing, and even then you may be doing a lot according to your abilities at the time.
@recoveringsoul7553 жыл бұрын
@Jinkai Wang I have accomplished most of what I listed except the military stuff. I have also raised children and got them into college, bought a home, paid it off early, lost about 60 lbs and then built muscle and trained to climb a mountain with my son. About a year to lose the weight and another year of training for the backpacking trip, thirsty for any knowledge I could get from anyone who had ever done that. We successfully climbed to the summit of the tallest mountain in the lower 48 states, but that was a few years ago when I was 50. I couldn't do it now. But it was one of the most interesting and rewarding things I've ever done, even if I was the only woman there and other people were trying to tell me I wouldn't like it or trying to get me to quit. Screw them. I love being out in nature. One of my favorite moments is when I came face to face with a black bear on the trail. Then her little cub showed up. I got some great photos. Watching the Perseid Meteor Shower at 12,000 feet elevation without any light pollution was amazing. When I was fat and tired easily and dealt with cancer, I never thought I'd be climbing a mountain someday. Don't sell yourself short.

MMA tours in China line Shaolin monks up and chop them into cordwood. Shaolin training is partly ritual, and MMA is performance oriented.

I heard most Chinese Kung Fu were designed to work with inner QI, which are failed to pass down from the past, a style designed to fatal your inner body parts with a touch now is just a touch. The Kung Fu survived are muscles and bones side of it, almost no different from boxing, only more technical. Shaolin is the representative of the outer style, Wudang is the representative of the inner style, which is just a show now. Also there are also Longhu and Kunlun, which claimed to be able call out fire and lightning with a weird symbol paper in the past. No one can verify whether its true or not, but it is clearly against modern logic.

I'm not saying that what these monks do is not extraordinary , but I am noticing that with the bricks for instance, if you watch closely, they lift the top one up enough so that when it smacks down against the ones underneath, they break a bit more easily. Also the composition of the bricks looks kind of soft. I don't mean like bread, but if you've ever worked with bricks or cement you know what I mean. The drill to the head thing , I have a hard time believing that they aren't sharp if at all. Still pretty impressive.

DISEASES, this is the main thing that a person must be scared of because they don't come in a person's body by asking them, remember Jet li he must leave his film carrier even as a shaolin movie actor like Bruce Lee because an unknown diseases had caught him in his age. I also trained at such fights and even went to gym for 1hr and our master always said be strong first of all, but once a disease of pain get caught up in my body it would never end until I don't have a pill like Bruce lee had, so I stopped going back to my class and now I am exercising all of these workouts of my class in my home only
