Thanks, Jes & Maia. We plan to be in Budva in March-April-May; our first time. Montenegro looks better to us than the other non-Schengen countries. Yes! Everything was very normal, when you cross the boarder they’ll check if you have a pcr or your European certificate!

The Adriatic coast is beautiful along it’s entire length. It’s one of the best places in Europe to actually swim but you should mention that the beaches are not sandy, rather strewn with rocks and large pebbles that are hard to walk on. Some people will want to keep sandels handy for wading and definitely for walking the beach. The water is perfect for swimming, buoyant and temperate. Avoid large cities…..like Kotor if the cruise ships are in port. Seafood, grilled fish and such, is what will be reasonable by Western European standards. The Balkans are beautiful but have their well known issues. Montenegro seems to skirt the problems while retaining much of the character of a simpler time. Exploring inland in the mountains is also worthwhile. Your review is accurate, in that it’s a lovely place but could be a lot more nuanced.

⚠️ Hey Guys, A year later me and my girlfriend are making a holiday in Montenegro. We have been to Kotor and now we are staying in Budva. And ... yaix. Never again 😢 We have never been scammed so much in our entire life as in Montenegro. Even at official cultural attractions you are getting scammed. Prices are more somewhat of an "orientation" here and in the shops the change is often times just kept until you ask urgently to get it back. Prices themselves are not that cheap anymore also - food, especially protein sources are quite expensive. We would not really recommend coming here. ⚠️

Worst country I’ve been to. Mediocre at best. People with no manners, bad food (I can’t emphasize this enough), poor infrastructure, horrible traffic… Yes it’s cheaper than it’s rivals in the territory but you get what you pay for. Never again. (Shared opinion of an international group)
