They should train them for liberty. I trained my Arab gelding & he did super in our big show...they even move in time to the music if they become familiar w/ it...

Not so sure about them playing; more that they’re uncomfortable. They’re not in their usual role, so don’t know what to do which is why they’re just going around in circles at one end.
