Buell 1125r Modifications to Improve Performance and Appearance

Just a walk around the Buell 1125r I've ridden 15K miles to look at and explain the various modifications you may want to make to your own 1125r to improve it's appearance and performance. Race ECM, Air Box Mod, Exhaust Soot Diverter, Tail Tidy, Touring Saddle w/ Quick Release Pins, Side Fairings, Mirror Mod, Blue Windshield. Also consider using Michelin Pilot Power 2 CT tires to improve turn in and get more miles with less squaring off of the tread.

Just got a dime piece 1125R. 2008. EBR ECM and Barker exhaust. What a torque monster…….it melts my face.

Cleanest 1125r I've seen so far. I wasn't a fan at first because if the really wide looking fairing, by your mods have made it look so so much better. Rip Buell and ebr, hopefully they can come back in the future

Re: The stock mirrors - i quite like the fact that i need to tuck my elbows in to see what is behind, as it assists in blocking out dazzling headlights of cars behind me. But 100% right on the vibrating, i sometimes clutch in to see what is actually behind me :)

@hughesju no probs I used R1 flush mount signals from d2moto and sealed them in place with black silicon I used some flat head machine screws and acorn nuts to secure the fairing first. I clipped the leads from the stock signals and soldered and heatshrinked them onto the flush mount signals.

As you know these Buell accessories are scarce now that HD dropped the line. Even when I bought mine they were not exactly easy to find. I did a quick search and found nothing.

Does it seem like every Buell owners are major apologists, trying to compensate for a really terrible product, because it is US made? Well, not so much because this engine is Austrian made. I really want to like it too, I really do, but there isn't any reason these bikes should be such garbage stock. Major selling points for the bike is the sportyness of it, and to think you need to remap it, with a special race programming, in order to get decent mid range performance out of it? That whole top of the airbox thing is horrid too. Electrical problems, fried stators, bike dies on you while at highway speeds, gas boils in the frame, mirrors shake too much to see out of, I doubt we would put up with that if any overseas brand. It is a beautiful bike and concept, and super cool shot at a niche, but dang, they had a lot of years being harley backed to still have these kinds of things in production bikes.

I owned and rode both a 2007 Yamaha r1 and a 2008 Buell 1125r at the same time. When I finally made the decision to sell one it was the Yamaha that I sold. And I have no reason to apologize for Buell because it is made in the USA.
