Buell S1 Big Bore 1430ccm - awesome punch!!!

Short testride with the heavily (not hardly (-; ) customized Buell S1 Lightning from a friend of mine. Big Bore 1430ccm engine, Ducati front fork with Brembo Brakes and PVM wheels, Wilbers rear damper, plenty of other specs for getting lighter and lighter. It´s not full throttle, because I`ve ridden it just 2 minutes on unknown roads for testing his suspension work, and we had to change some things after that ride.

Buell is still alive and well. Just do a quick Google search. I believe they are somewhere up north. And the bikes only got better!

I owed a S1W. I've never ridden a bike that could handle like that. So much fun. Sadly I sold it.

With pistons that big, I wonder if you get a lot of rear wheel skidding during downshifts due to engine breaking? Also, what kind of mpg do you get? Less than 20 mpg?

I don't know the mpg, it's not mine. I am used to downshifting with short throttle blips to avoid rear wheel skidding.

What's the power n torque came out to be? Belt or chane?

It´s not mine, but I believe around 130Nm and over 100hp. I´ve also tested a bigger one a few years ago with more cui, and about 145 Nm. It´s still Belt.

Not my bike, just a short 5min testride while stopping on a tour with friends. Unknown roads is right,but this is heaven for bikers.

You better stick with a boring inline 4. I had a BMW K75 three cylinder. I missed the 'living' aspect of the Buell motorcycle. Everything jumping, not boring.
