Creating In Camera Double Exposure On CANON EOS R6

Hi, I enjoy your videos and I find them very informative. I love my R6 but I only have the kit RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM and rf 35 f1.8. I have an ef adapter, ef 24-105 f4 L, ef 70-200 f2.8 II, ef 85 f1.8. I want to buy and rf lens but not sure which to get. So I'm asking you which would you recommend. Thanks! any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Curtis, thanks for the comment and question. You have a lot of really nice lenses, I’m impressed. I have been enjoying the the RF 28-70 mm f2, it’s a beast of a lens. It’s not stabilized but the R6 handles it great, however it is pricey! The 15-35 is another fine choice but it will certainly depend on what you shoot and what your budget is. Hope this helped a little bit.

Hi Irina. Sorry I did not respond sooner! If you shoot in Raw, yes, the original images are saved as raw files and the multiple exposure is also available as a raw file.

On the R6, I do not see how you can activate multiple exposures via a custom button. You will have to go into the menu system.

Is the lens the 24-105 L series f4 or 24-105 f4-f7.1? The later is not compatible.

You sure can. Just make sure you are prepared to hold still if FV using a longer shutter speed.

multiple exposure menu is not active. When I try to open it, it gives a warning saying "Cannot be used due to clarity". I changed many things in the AF menu, but still multiple exposure was not activated.

See if the highlight tone priority is set off in the red shoot menu on page 2

Hi I just got the eos r6 with the kit lens 24-105 and the camera says that double exposure is not available with the attached lens :-( any idea why? Thank you in advance

That is such a bummer! I really don’t know why Canon would disable this feature for the lens you have on there. I just tried it with the same lens but the f4 version and it worked. I did some quick research and found that it does not work with some selected lenses but I cannot find the list, which is unfortunate. I’ll keep you posted if I find any other information.

@Fashandtalks oh! In that case, it should work fine. Perhaps you’re not on the latest firmware update, this is just a guess. Go to your menu button, then click on the wrench or yellow menu and then click on page 5 and look at the bottom line to see what version of firmware you are on, 1.1.1 or 1.2?. I can also jump on a zoom call if that would be helpful, just let me know.

@@pablodiazphotography Its on 1.1.1 . I really wish I had research more about this Camera before getting it. Its stressing me out 😅 Its so much different from my Canon 77d. I can’t view the files on my iphone like I use to neither Can I view the photos in google photos which I use for backup! I really hoped some one talked more about these “issues” When reviewing this camera! I Can Open the cr3 files in Lightroom to edit but I still have to upload all of the dark boxes because I can’t see the photos even if I only want to edit one photo 🙈 I have only had it for 2 days so I still have alot to learn about it! But yeah I bought it because of its focusing and that is not disapointing at all 🙌🏾 so I just have to adjust to everything else

You have purchased yourself a really good camera and I’m sure you will get the hang of it and find the solutions to all your problems.
