Well guys that was an awesome trip. I'm glad I subscribed to your channel. I really love the mountains. I grew up in west virginia and now live in florida so I miss those hills like you guys were on and the scenery was just fantastic. Thank you for letting me come along on such a great adventure. Dwayne. I'm so looking forward to many more with you.

Fantastic river for a family trip! Been there a few times. I will have to check out the trail. It was the first protected "Wild and Scenic River" 1972 IIRC.

This trip has been on my radar since I visited Butterfield Hiking Trail last year. Beautiful area and I want to go back!! You introduced me to Butterfield and have now convinced me that I need to hit this too, Mark!! Great video!
@SpiguyverBackpacking12 жыл бұрын
For sure you need to stop delaying and get out there. I highly suggest going while the leaves are off the trees, with them on you'll miss 90% of the views. It would have been super amazing if there was water flowing in the side creeks and those waterfalls were alive!

Going out tomorrow Mark. Only hiking in a mile if that but taking the hot tent and stove and a lot of other stuff. Very heavy! But its finally snowing here so maybe I can use a sled to haul it in. If not I'll have to take 2 trips. Oh yeah its gonna be cold, with wind chill right around 0F.
@SpiguyverBackpacking12 жыл бұрын
How was it? It's been COLD here this past week, windchills below zero. I'll be heading out to do some video tomorrow.
@alexwbanks702 жыл бұрын
@@SpiguyverBackpacking1 It was good. It got down to 9F and below zero with the windchill. But it worked great. At my age though this ground sleeping in the cold just hurts. I can't wait to get into one of my hammocks again.

Great trip! Why did you take the canister stove? Also, would you mind sharing some details of the trail... Like where the trailhead is, etc...? I would love to do this trail sometime.
@SpiguyverBackpacking12 жыл бұрын
Sometimes it's just easier to take the canister, it's a lot quicker and with the amount of coffee I do it would have required a lot of alcohol. So this is the Buffalo River Trail in Arkansas. The trailhead we started on was the Ponca trailhead, in Ponca, Arkansas. We chose this one because we could park at the Buffalo Outdoor Center about a half mile from the trailhead. There are probably 6 different trailheads along this 36-40 mile trail that you can jump on at.

Ever think about collecting the water dripping off the tarp and using it for cooking?

I’ve used several different kinds of camera over the years but keep coming back to the GoPro. The new Hero 10 is pretty good! The video quality KZbin is showing right now isn’t close to what the actual quality is, and I’m not sure why.
