6:12 Ancient Olympic runners usually ran on a track covered with layer of sand and dust. Before running, they covered their bodies with oil which helped them with washing it all off, before washing themselves after run, the Olympic runners used to scrap the layers of sand and dust with a knife. Also, they looked jacked and shiny so thats also a reason why Ancient Olympic athletes used the oils.
