Started doing farmer squats yesterday Ive been doing squats with a weight vest previous to that exercise for about 2 years and it's safe to say that the farmer squats felt waaay better it helped keep my form cleaner and I could feel much more of a stretch in around my hips and calves👍

Got a landmine for my homegym and barely used it till recently (and feeling pretty foolish for missing out so long). The "farmer squats" are great for when your back is getting banged up or you fancy some variety. Edit: Also top tip- You can start the farmer squats with the bar up on a bench, it's easier to load and you don't need to clean it to the start position! Another cool lift is a "Meadows Row", lifting the bar from the side with one arm. Those feel real good

See, now, when doing the standing shoulder press I feel like the weight is getting lighter as the bar gets more vertical. To fix this, I do them kneeling instead of standing. On shoulder day, I also superset with standing lateral rows. Feel the burn, eh!
@matsuwd-emethdaath40025 жыл бұрын
good point as this will also involve the abs even more
@mikebird18295 жыл бұрын
The weight is getting “lighter” the closer the bar comes to perpendicular to the floor. By kneeling you are moving a higher percentage of the weight throughout the movement.

I feel like those couple extra inches of ROM really make a big difference. My gym doesn't have a good attachment, just the v grip handle. So i stick the handle under the bar, right under the plate stop, and it works fine. Just gotta make sure you keep it controlled so you don't bounce the bar off the handle.
