Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.1 Guide - Poor Adam Smasher receives a stealth takedown. He was not able to showoff all his skills sadly. Adam Smasher is now buffed up. We can now stealth takedown smasher again. They removed that ability in 2.0 but was previously in 1.6.
Adam Smasher is a full-borg solo and rival of Morgan Blackhand. Smasher is employed by Arasaka and by 2077 he has risen to the position of head of security and the personal bodyguard of Yorinobu Arasaka.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure role-playing video game, being developed and published by CD Projekt RED, scheduled to be released December 10, 2020. The game was announced during the 2012 CD Projekt Red Summer Conference as the official video game adaption of Mike Pondsmith's pen and paper RPG Cyberpunk 2020. Originally titled Cyberpunk, the 2077 subtitle was added in late 2012.

First time I see Takemura getting knocked out by Smasher, usually he can tank him during the whole fight And the takedown animations are pretty much unique to Smasher, so they definitely thought about allowing us to do this which is nice

All boss fights in the main game have their own unique stealth takedowns.. I'm amazed that they did this when most people play this game as a FPS RPG or atleast combat heavy builds but games like Prey, Deus Ex, Vampire Bloodlines and similiar didn't allowed stealth builds to defeat bosses with stealth

It was always an option before patch 2.0. But it was disabled during 2.0 for some reason only to get brought back in 2.1.

@@CorelUser I just ran circles around the arena and kited him until he died. Use Kerenzikov dash when he gets close to land ranged weapon hits. A fairly low risk and easy tactic.

i just got the game before patch 2.1 and i waited for the buffs to finish the story for the first time, i remember trying to do stealth takedowns bc i was doing a stealth netrunner build but it wouldnt give me the option for a takedown,i thought you werent able to because he was the final boss, now i see that its possible, i must have fucked something up. i played on hardest dificulty and i kept dying from 3 shots lol. had to use suicide hack and zap to eventually get him

I mean the game is designed in a way that you can use all the different playstyles from finish to end.. you can play the whole game without using guns and just stealth your way through it, without killing anyone.. or you can shoot your way to the end credits.. or hacking everything in your way.. or use melee weapons as your main playstyle .. or mix them together even :) it's up to you and the game allows it

OK, this gives me at least a bit of hope. In my first playthrough I have a stealth build and it was very much not working against Smasher. But my memory wipe costs 34 out of my 41 RAM and I did not dare to try it. But now I will. Although I don't know how he didn't chase you. In my attempts it always felt like he was on my tail all the time.

Interesting. If Sonic Shock's trace defeating functionality gets restored in a subsequent patch, it'd actually be useful to fend off Smasher's countertracing ICE.

@@clarencewalters338 Totally unsure. it was not in the patch notes but after patch 2.1 if you use it and follow up with a non-covert Quick hack, you get traced.

@@dulio12385 damn dude. Literally the one thing it's good for got sacked. Noise levels really aren't a big factor in enemy tracing and the use case for it instead of reboot optics was that it couldn't be traced but could still be used as a control quickhack. Reminds me of when they gutted the original ping so the legendary version couldn't hack through walls. A needed balance change? Sure, but it was also the primary use case for using ping over filling that slot with a damage or control hack

@@dulio12385 memory wipe does have a reason to exist without it but the use is a niche that people often don't use. If you use an Arasaka cyberdeck, stealth cyberware, and covert/crowd control hacks you can become an untouchable close range cyber assassin.

i was using tier 5 tetratronic rippler mk5. netrunner skill at max. tier 5 ex disk for frontal cortex and tier 5 ram upgrade. ram Relocator, smart Link, ram Recoup.. i might be missing one or two.

I did it on Very Hard with a guns build, no hacks needed. Just have the optical camo with the Relic skill unlocked and you can make him lose track of you pretty easily

What you mean? There is a few quickhacks in the game and first thing that comes right into a mind is memorywipe on bosses. Its stupid to assu,e that they didnt know that. And its actually that bosses do not ignore mechanics of the game, And since smasher is allmost full cyborg its only natural that he is weak agains a hacker.
