It breaks my hear that the first thing she says after she comes back is "is this hell?" It tells you that she was somewhere good, because she's never seen hell and now the world seems like it because it's so awful compared to where she was.

Can you imagine waking up to a place worse than where she was? That was a very poignant line coming from one who had to dig herself out of her grave and seeing devastation, not really know what was happening in the present. It's like she could've been at peace but just like waking up from a dream, you get hit by reality which can be a nightmare hehe

Thats what makes this show so amazing and sets it apart from all the other vamp/supernatural dramas out there. There were real consequences to these huge events, which is trauma and depression. Btvs did it so well, blending the vampire lore with the pain and horrors of real life and growing up.

This scene is still very Heartbreaking. I mean Buffy was brought back from the dead she literally had to dig out of her own grave and she had to see The World’s Violence in a different way. Buffy’s first words has asking if this was hell and that tells you that she was in Heaven. This Poor Girl just wanted Rest In Heaven but she was torn from Heaven and I had to find a way to readjust to life while dealing with PTSD and Depression.

Absolutely, it was definitely a very selfish move and because of that I've stopped loving her character and she became worse through the rest of this season. Of course she didn't know but why they haven't tried to contact her spirit or something like that? They couldn't communicate with the dead? Well if she did we wouldn't have season 6 or 7 lol they wouldn't try to bring her back and disturb her peace.

Tbh I think of it like Supernatural - before they met Castiel in season 4, it didn't even register that "heaven" existed. In fact they emphatically denied it. I kinda figured Buffy is the same - the Hellmouth is undeniable. But because it's seen as a different dimension as opposed to an optional afterlife, it doesn't register that when she sacrifices herself, she'd NOT be transported there, but to an actual afterlife.

If I remember correctly, they were attacked by a gang of biker-like demons. The magical "pot" Willow was using was broken and they thought the spell had failed. They ended up running for their lives from the demons, thinking Buffy was still dead. But I agree, it would have made more sense to dig her up first!

I know it was only a tv series but when buffy died I was down in the dumps waiting for the next season to start was murder because I thought that was the end of buffy,but what a relief when she came back it was brilliant tv..but one of the scariest ones was when dawn was trying to bring her mum back it was brilliant..👍

the whole "let's bring buffy back but change her entire character by having her being ripped from hell" really hurt the show. S06 was pretty shitty and a lot of s07 suffered from the new, dark Buffy. I really wish they had chosen a different route coz the show changed its entire tone completely as well due to the lead character having become basically a new character.

If I’m honest I like what they did with Buffy Summers in Season 6. Because it’s a clear Reminder that even though Buffy Summers may have superpowers at the end of The Day she is Still Human. She still has the ability to Feel Joy, Love, Happiness, Lost and Depression and she will make Mistakes because Buffy Summers is just like us someone who will do bad stuff and make Mistakes but that’s just being Human.

I always thought it was so selfish of them. They couldn't live without Buffy, they couldn't protect Sunnydale without Buffy, so they resurrected her without any regard. That one musical episode sums up Buffy's feelings so well, her resentment towards her friends.

@ you mean closing the portal? Honestly it would close once dawns blood would stop flowing . Dawn would have realistically jumped.. but anyways viewing the series went on thankfully Buffy sacrificing herself and coming back was way better (they could not have brought back dawn as she was artificially created..). But had the series ended here (as it almost did ) it wouldn’t have been a good ending for the most successful slayer to date. Saving her sister and closing the portal letting the world and an inexperienced new slayer fight what might have come through would have been contrary to buffys immense sense of duty and responsibility

now i havent watched buffy beyond this episode as of now. but i do truly wish that the deceased who was brought back had a choice in the matter and that the choice was taken into account. there was certainly a possibility that wherever buffy was she was happy, if she didnt want to come back, willow had no right to call her. the spell is so messed up, it forces the deceased one to come back without taking consent into account, ik the show wont go without buffy after its buffy the vampire slayer ffs. but ethically and morally its very very wrong, willow neither is the giver of life nor is she the taker, she had no right to call buffy back. there's a reason why we dont mess with life and death, they are things beyond our control then why try to meddle with them! it just didnt set right with me, and never will.

Finding the called slayers and helping them understand their gift. Could be wicked cool.
