9:02 / 14:33 Gellar plays misplaced rage and foolish self recrimination really well this episode. Also one of my favorite episodes of season 2. I think what actually brought it out was Buffy and Angel's issues, a lot of that actually happened at the school. I think it disturbed the ghosts and then the Sadie Hawkins dance just gave them the opportunity. Motive and means. "You're still the only one I can talk to" still physically hurts when you think about the ramifications what that means for Buffy to say it to Angel. I also can't help but wonder if the teacher being from Sunnydale knew about vampires. Either the way their scenes at that school would prove as much. And yeah kids really should be warned about the emotional time bomb they're going to become.

I almost always post this when reactors get to this episode. You talked about this some yourself, Christy. This is one of my personal top episodes of the series. I know it doesn't come close for nearly anyone else, though. This episode aired the day before my 15th birthday. I was 2 years younger than the characters in the show, so the show was profound to my growing up anyway. When they did the ghost swap at the end, my teenage mind was blown. I never saw it coming. It was the moment I knew this show was going to be with me for the long haul. As I got older and really looked more into the meaning of this episode, it grew on me even more. This episode is the psychological look into the aftermath of what happened between Buffy and Angel. The parallels with James and Grace are so well done too. A story about a younger person in love with an older one, a taboo in Buffy's and Angel's case as it goes even further with it being slayer loving vampire, and honestly, an illegal one in James' and Grace's case. Both shouldn't happen, but both do, and despite it all, the older person loving the younger one in return. After Grace breaks it off with James and he angrily goes after her, Buffy describes it as he killed her, the one person he loved, in a blind moment of passion. James chooses Buffy because he knows this is how she feels about what happened to Angel. In a blind moment of passion, Buffy stops Angel from stopping the two of them moving forward with their love making session. A: Buffy maybe we shouldn.... B: interrupting ....don't And they sleep together and ultimately Buffy feels like, in a sense, she killed Angel then because he went away and Angelus took his place. She understands that James wants forgiveness, because, deep down, she wants forgiveness. She is so hard on James and questioning why he should be forgiven, because, deep down, she doesn't believe she deserves forgiveness. Plus, SMG and DB really do that scene justice because they are just a notch above everyone else with the acting. As for your question about Grace taking over Angel, I think it's just happenstance of who happens to be there. James being the poltergeist sets off the scene and Grace happens to get taken along for the ride. At least that's how I see it. Then once she realized Angel was still alive, she was able to get up and change the ending.

I am glad to see you both back, I hope that the new place, went as smoothly as it possible could. I hope that you are both healthy and happy in this time of Covid-19 (or no Covid-19, not here to fight anyone). The Flamingos, sang this version of the song...

So I'm doing a Buffy reactor awards set of videos, it's going to take forever as in months. It's really tight you have to have three plus nine moments minimum to even get one slot. I do that largely to avoid using too much footage of anyone reactor so that everybody has to go and check them out especially at their best episodes. Which is the idea, give people a short visual of what makes various reactors great and worth their time. Anywho you got an episode two. I don't want to spoil it by saying what scene you won or who you won against, but I will say it demonstrates something I noticed about you guys right away but I really liked. Hope that works for you, please and thank you.

9:42 🤢Same. I remember liking the mashed potatoes and gravy and those tiny chocolate chip chocolate, frosted cupcakes. I remember nothing else. I believe I blocked it out. 11:03 Love Dru!
