"A monster that adults can't see? I can't think of any." "There are plenty of those." That was such a good line, very in fitting with the show.

Watched this as a 6/7 year old with my sister, and it genuinely terrified me 😂 I hid behind our sofa and made her tell me when the demon wasn't on screen and it was safe to come out. Good times 😅

One of Xander's finest hours, his face off with Angelus is so good !

I thought Killed By Death was a pretty decent stand alone episode, with the children in fear of the monster. Buffy again comes through and we see her as the ultimate protector she is. This is actually quite scary in that Der Kindestod is a terrible monster, which we do see throughout the show that some of the monsters are incredibly evil and terrifying. The fears of children are well shown in this episode and the innocence and fear they have. Quite a funny and cute scene at the end where we see Buffy, Willow, and Xander acting like children themselves letting Joyce run around providing them with snacks and drinks, a great scene where we are reminded they are at this point still very much kids themselves.

I dont understand the hate for this episode reading some of the comments from other fans , But i definitely think this was a great Freddie Krueger inspired monster of the week filler episode.

I also played "Doctor" in the way that Willow did. With literal medical books we used to diagnose each other! :P LOL

Hey, leave my Gatorade alone that's literally sitting here next to me lol. I didn't mind this episode that much. Seeing Buffy unable to fight off illness at all is an interesting concept.

Don't feel bad for Joyce. She's getting to take care of her child! Something she hasn't had the opportunity to do for years!

This is such a leftover season 1 episode, you can tell they just added on Angel for some continuity. He might as well not even be there tbh

Yeah. I don't mind filler episodes, I just don't like this particular story.

@@gungho1284 Same here. Definitely on the lower half of my list of Buffy "filler" episodes

Nah this is a good filler episode Freddy Krueger inspired and definitely not a left over season 1 episode.

I actually don't mind it. I think the biggest problems are that: A. It directly follows a story heavy episode so you're all pumped for the story to keep continuing and the pause makes it really, really awkward. B. Most people watch Buffy steaming style these days and not week to week. When this aired, it had been a full week between episodes and so a lot of the urgency had more or less faded. You see a lot of older shows where the assumption was that only a few already fans are going to be binging the series and not watching episode to episode and so they'll often have heavier episodes followed immediately by something lighter in a way that now adays can come off as whiplash.

@@Gildedmuse I agree that the placement of this episode is a little weird , It should have been somewhere between bad eggs and the Halloween episode

The actress has a mole on her face. I always thought It was just me who noticed, until I rewatched this episode years later. Think it’s weird the writers wrote it in.

Commenting for the algorithm I love and hate this episode of Buffy in equal measure.
