The line about it eats you starting with your bottom was a mistranslation of "From beneath you it devours"

Reportedly the original plan was to have Tara appear to Willow. The official explanation is that Amber Benson wasn't available, however at the time this episode aired, it was said that she refused the part because she felt it would be too cruel for fans to see Tara being evil. Personally, I wish she had done it, as it would have made a much stronger episode. Logically it also makes sense that if the evil wanted to torment Willow and get her to kill herself, appearing as Tara would have been the best option. As for the movie that Dawn is watching, I'm not sure if it's a real movie. I'm too lazy to dig out a copy of the episode and see if I recognize it. However, when her friend suggests that Tom Hanks might be the killer, that implies that her friend is watching He Knows You're Alone (1980), which was an early slasher film that Hanks had a small role in.

This is correct, Amber was very much into the fandom at the time and she saw how hurt and traumatized so many fans were over Tara’s death.. she didn’t want to reprise the role just to cause more trauma

I love cross-cut sequences, and the end of this episode is one of the best. When I first saw this, I was like "Hoooooooolyyyyyyy crap..." I believe the date at the beginning of the episode was accurate to the actual broadcast date. As I recall, Amber Benson was asked to appear in this episode as the evil entity masquerading as Tara, but she declined so a new character was invented to act as a go-between between "Tara" and Willow. So the earlier episode with Cassie was written to set up the character. It's a little messy since Willow didn't meet Cassie when she was still alive. It's really tricking the audience more than Willow herself. I still don't know whether that was actually Joyce speaking to Dawn from the beyond, or another evil entity pretending to be Joyce in an attempt to drive a wedge between Buffy and Dawn. It's never explained what that demon was, or if it was all just a show to confuse and intimidate Dawn.

he actually was going to be on it, IF they were able to get the actor who played Jesse...but the actor was busy and wouldn't be able to show up to film, so they had to pretty much scratch Xander's part. Nicholas Brendon did have a small, paid break at least.

Conversations With Dead People was a great episode and continues the build up to finale. We see similar here to that we first saw in S3 episode Amends with the torturing of Angel through the dead Jenny Calendar and other victims of Angels past. Cassie is of course not real, and plays psychological games by taking on the persona of dead people and getting under the skin of all the living trying to turn them on each other, with Joyce returning as well to appear to Dawn. Willow eventually sees that is not Cassie. The interesting thing about this episode was it was also trying to show how Charlatan Mediums can manipulate the living missing loved ones and pretending to speak to them. Revelations too with Spikes actions, and the the reappearance of the dead Warren, and the death of Jonathan.

Spoilers Why would you post this? Like most reactors, and people in general she doesn't know who the big bad is yet and you could be giving her the answer if she decided to check that episode out, or if she just remembers what it was about.
