It makes sense he brought it up given he had to listen to Angelus half of S2 go on about Buffy and fuck Drusilla right in front of him. S3 Lovers Walk episode Spike is drunk and mopey over Drusilla which practically begged Buffy and Angel to take potshots at his relationship. So by now Spike's motivation is revenge but when Buffy looked like a kicked puppy instead of the badass warrior she is, well that's ruining his fun. So he dropped Angel's name because he knew that's what would work at that point in time. S5 and the rest of the series, Dawn becomes Buffy's berserk button.

Diego Toledo agreed!! Season 3 was the fastest in choreography but season 4 had more movements. I noticed that season 5 was slowing down and then season 6 and 7 was just non existent.

That’s because there was drama with the stunt choreographer, stuntwoman vs Sarah Michelle Gellar. They ended up firing them both to keep SMG happy. I do agree that the stunts have went down hill ever since.

Sophia Crawford, SMG's stunt double and her bf at the time, Jeff Pruitt, who was the fight choreographer and stunt coordinator parted ways with the show after S4 because of Gellar's diva drama. It was all downhill from there.

Spike is a great fighter no doubt but I think the reason he was able to so easily dominate her in this fight was because Buffy was all messed up about Parker. Her mind wasn't on the fight 100%. Of course the tables turned as soon as Spike mentioned Angel. That's where he messed up lol.

I don't think it was on purpose, tbh. She knocked him down and he was caught by surprise; he reached for it but would've been too late. Granted, he wasn't fighting as hard/defensively as he would have been without the ring, but come on. She bested him. For that matter, if he actually had the speed/skill to kill her/triumph, he could've/would've. She fell down too, giving him the same theoretical opportunity to snap back faster and take advantage of the shot, but she got there first. Buffy slays. :)

The stake to the heart? No he let that one through on purpose. If this is your first time seeing a Spike fight then a WTF would be understandable. But he loves letting his opponents get a first couple shots in, it's an intimidation tactic and with the gem of course he let Buffy stake him - no way he would let that one pass up. He does it with Buffy, does it with Angel, did it with Xi Rong, did it with Nikki Wood - it's his thing. If you have seen these fights on the show before and are trying to pull a: "Oh look! Look! See! Right there! Spike sucks! HaHa!!! What a wimp!" There is a reason Giles and Xander freak an episode later when Buffy declares she is going to go out and find Spike and "give him what he wants." They force her to carry a flare gun in case she gets in trouble. Spike haters, you're like dogs. A car that passes by and you chase it like it's the most important thing in the world.

@Yamen2015 The reason why all the other slayers died, & this was mentioned in many episodes, is because they lived a life alone... they didn't have friends or family. They made themselves a "creature of the night" I guess you can say. Spike even quotes in, I think it was his first episode, "A slayer with friends & family...." as if he was surprised. The real hero isn't Buffy... the heroes are the people who love her. It's a very touching message Joss Whedon made throughout the series.

Actually, he comes very close to killing her in "School Hard" as well, when she's at full-strength (she is rescued by her mom, something Spike didn't see coming). The real point is that Spike isn't routinely stronger, or even AS strong, as Buffy; he's a great fighter for a vampire owing to his experience and attitude (the only vampire to actively seek out slayers), but the "he beats her in basically every fight" claim is ridiculous.

He also essentially defeated her in the episode where he forces a surgeon to remove his chip. Jumped on her, almost bit her but his chip activated. Had the surgeon actually removed it, she was toast.

This season was Buffy's prime - fighting wise. She was so quick, agile and strong. I know after season 4, her original stunt fighter, left and then she had a stunt double whose fighting wasnt as good or as fast. You may notice in season 5-7, her fights get slower and she results to weird kicks and punches, but this season was for sure her prime as a fighter.

This scene always bothered me and for the longest time I couldn't figure out why. Then it dawned on. To be a bit poetic about it, it's the harsh light of day that's the problem. Spike in his dark trench coat and vampire make up looks almost comically out of place in the nice bright daylight which really detracts from the threat you are supposed to be feeling in this scene.

Yes. I think because in season 4 freshman when that vampire 'broke' her arm. It was never in a cast just in a sling I think. (Or maybe that was willow. Can't remember.) But I think it has something to do with that. :)

I don't think so, part of being a slayer comes with rapidly fast healing. Since this happened two episodes after it was hurt badly it would've healed. She has shown to bounce back from being shot, stabbed, to having had internal bleeding in one episode. So a arm that wasn't even broken is nothing, it has to be something small like a state of mind going through a tough fight not wanting to go through that pain she felt in it a couple days ago to be honest.

@Yamen2015 No, Slayers are a a little stronger than vampires, Angel has said so too. Buffy's experience and skill and quick thinking always out her two steps ahead of Spike when he was at his best. The other slayers he's killed were less experienced as Buffy and fought alone. Buffy ALWAYS comes out on top.

Buffy had friends who helped her and a life she didn’t want to give up - the other slayers embraced the idea of a short brutal life with little to no ties to the world. Even Kendra and Faith embraced the concept of an early death because they were “The Slayer” Buffy refused to accept she had to give up who she was to be the slayer which gave her a stronger will to live. Spike tells Buffy that all slayers have a death wish meaning they just want it to be over and not fight for their life every night.

Unless I missed something (which is totally possible), Buffy never took him back. On the contrary I think the show has shown that she could never fully embrace Spike after what he'd done to her no matter how changed he proved himself to be afterwards. They're not together at the end of the show and the relationships anyone in the gang had were never really healthy either to begin with that's true! But that's always been adressed!
