This movie was great on so many levels, one of which is to inject wacky characters like the great Mell Tillis in the middle of an event like this. We all know how perfect Gleason is, but watch at how Tillis delivers his lines so naturally right down where he tries to interrupt Justice without stepping on the dialogue. Perfect.

I think Jackie ad libbed everything he did in showbusiness. A genius no doubt. He created The Honeymooners and would rewrite 5 minutes before showtime. It would screw up Art Audrey and Joyce but thankful they knew what he wanted. What pisses me off about Gleason is that with all the knowledge he had done for the industry of Hollywood, no oscar, no emmy O.k. so he got a Tony award in the 70s I believe. But a Tony is NO OSCAR! We miss you pal! There's no doubt YOU are, we're and still the greatest!
