With Sheriff Buford T. Justice (Jackie Gleason) hot on his trail and eager to teach him some respect for the law, the Bandit joins forces with good ol' boy, Cledus (Jerry Reed) and runaway bride Carrie (Sally Field). 4K with the original sound would be more gold than Big Enos’ word. They redid the sound and now a 1970’s truck sounds like a 2022 one. Horrible.

They rereleased Smokey & The Bandit in theaters back in 2017 for it's 40 year anniversary. Thank God I went to see it then because I had never seen it on the big screen before (I was only 3 when it first came out) and I probably never will again. It's STILL an absolutely entertaining car chase yarn. It's the kind of film Hollywood no longer makes, with the kind of actors Hollywood no long has. Those are REAL cars crashing on screen with REAL drivers behind the wheel. Who would of thought that a film like Smokey & The Bandit would be missed in 2020? I only wish I had see a double feature that day in 2017 with the second film being Hooper! God, I miss Burt Reynolds!

Thinking on it Snowman never did buy a new rig? Jerry Reed (who had a CDL), kept that GMC for the rest of his life! He used it as his tour rig (hauling his stage stuff). Early last winter I rolled up on a covered wagon, looked at the doors and it had a pic of a black T/A with a dunn colored cowboy hat on the roof on them! As I come up alongside I noticed a painting of a bunch of Indians attacking a stage-coach! When I get to the cap (which was a 19 Peterbuilt) painted rootbeer brown (with stripes) and carrying old GMC badges! someone was definitely a movie fan!

900 miles to Texarkana, 900 miles back. 1800 miles. 28 hours. Let's be generous and say an hour from talking to Big Enos and Little Enos to get the car, get Snowman, get on the road, and an hour in Texarkana for a whole team of people to load the truck. That's 26 hours left. 1974 Kenworth W900A had a fuel capacity of 300 gallons (150 r and l side), and a fuel efficiency around 6.6 mpg, so they can do it on one tank of gas with a bit to spare. They're going to have average about 70 mph there and back.

This is one funny fucking movie, they had to know how funny and good this movie was going to be. That being said, 400 cases of beer in cans is 4 pallets of 98 cases plus 8 cases, which would fit in a cargo van, and no one would know you were hauling that Coors beer to a nascar event.

We were SO spoiled for choice in '78... When was the last time two classic movies like Smokey and Star Wars were in the cinema at the same time like '78? I remember hiding in the stairwells of the theatre after Star Wars had finished because my friends and I were too young and the ushers wouldn't let us past the door to see Smokey 😂

Take a look at the axles of the trailer at 0:57 and 3:43 - I don't get it why they took two different trailers and changed them permanently throughout the movie...

Hal Needam is the only person who could have pulled this movie off, because he was an ordinary guy who put a lot of ordinary (looking) folks with extraordinary talent in his films. There are so many good choices that made this happen; starting with Burt recommending that Sally Field be his co-star.

I wonder if the DVDs and BD offer the original mono soundtrack. In this clip, it is the remastered soundtrack from the 2007 re-release, and it just doesn't sound the same. Missing or late music tracks, different sound effects, glad I still have the original 1998 release DVD with the original soundtrack.

Obviously Bandit lives in a world with a special time warp that lets you get a car titled, tagged (with a custom tag no less) and insured in less that 12 hours😸

A 20th-century version of Paul Bunyan, but with cooler-looking heroes. Jerry Reed and his music absolutely MADE this film. Without ''Eastbound And Down'' and his role as ''The Snowman''? It's just a ho-hum film.

The picture of the movie is BEAUTIFUL and clear. But the Trans Am on the original movie was alot louder and sounded awesome. On this modified version, the Trans Am sounds stock and alot quieter. But the movie on the 4k is awesome, tho. Lol

The sound they are using certainly is not a hot Pontiac 400 inhaling through a quadrajet. It sounds like an old 305 without mufflers.
