I ran 36% OD for a while. I liked the improved turn circle and for purely technical crawling I think it works great. I’m currently running 24% and it seems to be a good compromise between technical performance and trail performance.

You use 24/8t in the front and 33/8t in the rear? I have this set of gear in my Capra axle overdrive is much more of 32% is 36/37% i don’t know at this point🤔

Camera angles look good man! I personally enjoy your level of excitement for the OD. Doesn't feel fake but it's just enough to share some knowledge and make for a relaxing crawler video!

Your videography is first rate and it along with your landscape, makes me jealous every time;-) I too love my Megalithics but have considered the BFG Krawlers for some time now. Do you have a preference? At first, the 37% overdrive on my VRD seemed like too much.....but now, I absolutely love it. Not surprised you like it as well on Bug Bite as it truly is worth the time and money. Thank you again for another awesome video!

Krawlers are better in wet and sandy/dirty conditions. Both are 2 of my fave tires. Tusks are up there aswell.

@@DesertRockCrawler Thanks for the information. I think I'm going to put some Tusks on my SCX6....although the Swampers are gonna be hard to beat.

Soo if u have overdrive u don't need weight up front? Thats a negative.. Also, overdrive works against antisquat, not with it. More overdrive, less antisquat.
@DesertRockCrawler6 ай бұрын
I never said ypu don't need weight up front. You wouldn't need to keep adding weight if you focus on those other options

"By having forward overdrive, I don't see the need for a forward weight bias.. u said that at 6:10 my bad I must have gotten it confused. Nice rig would love to see it crawl here in So Cal
@DesertRockCrawler6 ай бұрын
@@lowslowcrawlers1304 I have a rig that 65 forward weight bias great for climbing terrible for downhill. If I lower it to 60% forward weight and put more o.d. I'll achieve the same climbing without putting too much weight forward while also increasing its ability to descend.
@lowslowcrawlers13046 ай бұрын
Sounds killer, top notch build for sure
@lowslowcrawlers13046 ай бұрын
@DesertRockCrawler I don't have that much forward weight or overdrive. Usually just rely on chassis geometry with the link and shock position like u said, and about 10% overdrive and 58% front weight bias.
