Bug Fables is GENIUS For Doing The Obvious

Bug Fables is the paper mario game that every paper mario RPG fan wanted , just minus the red hat man and with a few more insects . And with origami king Being the final nail in the coffin for the hopes and dreams of a new paper mario RPG , Moonsprout Games Took the obvious opportunity to pull a big brain manoeuvre and make this pretty damn good game .
And no , It's not hollow knight or hollow knight silksong just cos it has bugs :p
Also this is not a paper mario origami king review , or a bug fables review . I'm not saying that origami king is bad just because i say the old games like thousand year door , are good .

In a way bug fables establishes itself differently. One of the points I bring up when I tell people to buy this game is that the characters always have something to say in every spot in the game, giving them loads of personality. The humour is great as well. It's less expressive like recent paper Marios but in chapter one there's a joke about stealing save points.

i really do hope bug fable manages to break out of just being a one time passion indie game and makes a baller sequel to mark itself as different and establish more attention to bug fables. Cuz people are goin to demand more of what they want of course. Also I really gotta question why rpgs for Nintendo is so cursed. Mario and luigi is practically dead, mother is never gonna be officially licensed in a long time unless by the official creator and nintendo giving a damn, and paper mario is stuck in a cycle of audiences wants, fandom arguments, brand intervention, and a struggle to become creative against those circumstances.

Bug Fables is genius because it takes the old formula and improves it with quality of life changes. No partners and instead a main cast of 3 to form a rock paper scissor battle? 200 IQ. It works so well.

Bug Fable was actually incredible. I've gotten to the final boss and have so much of the extra content to explore. It's what I wanted out of paper mario ever since TTYD. I actually think the implementation of the new setting is really charming and genius. The music is fucking incredible. Anyone who liked paper mario is going to love bug fables

Bug Fables is a great game beyond its massive similarities with PM. The rotational party system is much better than the Hero + Companion one. The characters are more alive and have actual character arcs. Bosses are actually challenging and the medal system opens up customizable strategies to confront them. Also you get to buy a house.

Honestly, as much as it takes clear inspiration from earlier games in the series, calling it TTYD 2 I think is actually doing a disservice not just to how hard they worked to successfully replicate such a hard to pull off winning formula, but to EXCEED early Paper Mario, particularly in it’s incredible music and masterful storytelling when it comes to the protagonists’ sidequests. It did everything it needed to do to live up to it’s incredible predecessors and yet it managed to go beyond.

A friend recommended me this game and it was like meeting a long dear friend. They changed, but all for the better. I can only hope more people try and enjoy this game. As you said, Tem Tem missed the mark, but Bug Fables excels and perhaps overcomes what I had from Paper Mario before! Doubt Nintendo will ever figure all this out and stick to their MAKE IT FOR EVERYONE strategy aka easy game but I wish nothing but more growth and love towards MoonSprout on their future titles. I honestly know nothing about Paper Mario or Bug Fables, I just got recommended it by my friend, so I decided to do some research first but after watching this video, it honestly seems pretty cool.
