The texture in that terrain looked amazing even when it just had the black base coat on it. I love this diorama. The contrast is awesome. You've made me realise that I always add OSL as an afterthought and don't start from a dark enough scene.

That looks pretty sick dude. Think you just did that thing of staring at it too close for too long. A good tip for OSL for anyone reading this, is contrast paint and edge highlights (they really sell it). Paint the model kind of as normal, or black. Then do the directional light with the white ink through the airbrush (don’t go overboard with this part) then airbrush citadel contrast paint of whatever the light colour is over that. Then edge highlight everything getting brighter and brighter, closer to the light. Presto.

Worth the wait! Cinematography level pushed up a notch, too. Thanks for going the extra mile with all the Broll. Have to ask, how did you do the shot at 1:15 where the camera curves to an almost 90 degree angle from vertical? Looked fucking awesome. Also, good to see someone finally putting the probe lens through its paces. I always thought it’d be perfect for miniature work. Mine hasn’t come outta its box for a year. Keeping it stable on a slider without micro jitters is a colossal pain, had to buy a separate lens support and fit it on some 15mm rods. Light hungry too.

So I like this osl and the idea is great. I think the issue if I am looking at this correctly is too much black/ negative space?? This is just an opinion and you know what people say about opinions....but maybe a slight smaller space and /or adding an addtional osl light source like a bio lumcesent plant might add some variation to the piece? Just a thought. The frog puppets were awesome. Keep up the great work.

out of curiosity, did you cure the insides of these bugs and, if you did, how?

You can get UV LEDs. Hook em up to a battery in shine them in, just make sure its the right frequency. My new anycubic wash and cure 3 station actually has a seperate led on a bendy stick thing that you can use for curing specific areas, like the interior of models

I picked up a UV LED, a 9v battery case with a on/off switch, some shrink tubing, and a giant box of resistors to step down the voltage, all from my local electronics store for less than $10. As long as the hole is bigger than 3mm it'll fit in there no problem. Although if you put at least two holes in the print you can easily flush it out so you don't have to worry about curing the interior and/or future blowouts from uncured resin.
