Why the big square box on some of these beetles?

The "square box" is kinda a standard thing to see on a "drag bug" it incorporates a wing and dzus fastens together for easy access to the motor.

There's so many different combos people choose to run. It's common to see 2275cc-3000cc hp range is 300-1000+ on some of the big motor/big boost combos

@@latenitefab crazy .. impossible for street use . I wanna build a bug street of course just getting couple hundred horsepower out of a type 1 motor is kinda difficult

@@jamestorres5582 couple hundred hp motor is pretty standard for a 2 Liters these days. There's builders who have put big motors in "street cars" lol

That's ball park for alot but there's also alot of low 8's and 9 second bugs out there.

Thanks for the cool video. Over here on the east coast we don't get to see many fast vws. Heck could not even watch the old revmaster oval run low sevens as it was a private rental day at Orlando speed world. If memory serves me correctly you had some involvement with the revmaster crew?

Your welcome. I think VW racing is very unique. Yes I was involved with Remaster and did the fab work on the dragster and the front motor oval before they were sold and we went our separate ways.
