This is my bug out bag system which is only 2 parts the Butt pack on the LBV and my riffle. If you have time to get more equipment like your alice pack then all the better. If not this will sustain you long enough to get away, camp and live off the land for a long time or 24 48 72 hours.

Okay, let's see if I get my comment deleted again. I'll try to be nicer this time. So, let me give you some tips: 1) Get rid of the Ensure. If you can't figure out how to field-strip three MRE's, there are plenty of other rations that are a hell of a lot more portable than bottles of Ensure and rice, and a lot lighter. Same goes for your spices; ever hear of spice packets? If you're that worried about nutrition go with Gatorade powder to supplement your rations. 2) A pocket knife is called that for a reason. You need it handy in your pocket, not in your bag. 3) Keeping a firestarter in your bag is fine. So long as you have one in your pocket, too. You don't want to take a chance on losing all of them at once. 4) I'm not even going to comment on the boot brush kit. 5) Not even the most proven bushmaster wants to use plants as asswipe. You want to take a chance on monkey butt? You go right ahead. Travel toilet kits have been around for years, and compressed tissues are cheap on Amazon. 6) Get rid of the BDU's. They take up too much room, and if you get the time and opportunity to use them in a 72 hour period, you're not trying hard enough. Go with a skivvy roll with extra socks. Sushi roll your sweater and wet weather top if you're not already wearing it. Take your patrol bag, and roll it for a six by ten inch stuff sack (waterproof), and use your bottom straps to hold it there. Make a ten inch long roll with your casualty blanket and poncho around four stakes with your cordage for your shelter. Use the top straps of your bag to secure it. I hope this helps, because Brother, if you have to do a real bugout, you're going to need it.Now, let's see if I get deleted again.

Agreed. My personal opinion though is, why are people focusing soooo much on bugging out. Alot of people need to be honest with themselves, is the world goes to shit, a large majority of people that choose to bug out aren’t going to last long. I feel like its a better plan to bug in, and fortify your home. Build relationships with neighbors and help each other out. Sure, being ready to have to bug out isnt a bad thing to plan for, but everyones making that their only plan. And alot of people, this guy included, doesn’t truly think this through

The tender is kept in an eclipse breath mints container. Yes you can slide the poncho onto the bottom but there is a drain hole that you would end up covering up. The other option is to use the top of the butt pack.

@airsoftsurvivalman12, don't mind questions. There is just so much information and so little time. Purify water is basically filter (cloth)-(charcoal) and boil from pools or other means like getting fresh rainfall off leaves ect.. Some plants retain water and can be a source of water. Any animal killed the blood can be drank. But it all comes down to either die of heat stroke or deal with diarrhea. Toohbrush use the tender twigs of Sassafras Toothpaste use mashed root of Cattail plant.to start

@Phatkid2199 pretty simple there are two clips on the pack that attach to the pistol belt. (Optional: you can use the two straps to loop through the loops on the LBV if you want also though I would still clip the pack to the pistol belt.)

Always remove dirt as soon as possible. Then get some kiwi mink oil from the boot store and apply it. It'll water proof and soften the leather.

Most useful things in your pack: Swiss Army Knife Feral Rod (excluding magnesium fire starter) Cotton Balls (soaked in wax is better) Bic Lighter 550 Parachord Poncho Bandana Socks Pretty Tacticool though. With all that camo crap, you'll be one of the first ones I rob in an SHTF scenario! Good Luck!

JUNIORK1974 I understand the ensure....great for quick calories and vitamins....if he is rocking leather boots I agree with having some mink oil/saddle soap. I wouldn't use all leather boats tho...gortex is the way to go. he needs to put his socks and undies in a zip lock baggie to keep them dry.

@mechanicalbu11 It depends on the situation your in. I live in the country and can be hidden in a few mins. City living is just as bad either way you go. If you have a bag and someone else doesn't then you have more then what they have and they will probably want it.. Just think about it.

@DanOhio777 The thing power bars lack is vitamins, the thing ensure has is a daily dose which will outlast your powerbars. I carry both and both have their own purpose. If I can pack it I can carry it, I'm not going to go into all the things you should carry as that is up to you and your situation.. I only provide ideas it is up to you to implement them

i like the rice idea with the container you should go with brown rice though, you can also use containers like this for small caliber ammo, i have 6000 rounds of 22 call in a few of them, keeps the moisture out very well.

You should be able to attach two ALICE clips to the buttpack, and then secure that to the pistol-belt. You may want to do this with the vest open, and "face down" so you can properly center the buttpack on the belt. After that, secure the buttpack from bouncing around either with 550, or it's own straps through the two D-rings on the back of the LBV. Hope that helps. Cheers.

How would you shoulder your rifle with those pouches/light in the way? As others have stated, you need to ditch a lot of that stuff; shoe polish? Really? Spices? Ensure is heavy, you want dehydrated foods as much as possible for weight. Just rehydrate with water.

Also, I suggest that you create a separate container to store your fire making equipment instead of keeping it all loose. I noticed that your Bic lighter and ferro rod were just thrown in there, which could be tricky to find if they're buried. Keep cranking out the vids, man. I've subscribed.
@DanOhio777

Dude, I admire your determination for preparing - however, your choices in items to pack leave alot to be desired. You have too much bulk. Drop the Ensure and go with powerbars. Toss the starter sticks and use cotton balls coated in vasoline (they burn quite well). There are many many things you can do to drop weight and bulk. Please look into that!

This goes right along with people posting on the internet things like: I got a three day assault pack, now what do I put in it. LOL. Well, I guess all this fantasy fun is OK as long as no one gets killed. One tour of duty in a combat zone will get you squared away on what you need and where to put it. I will say that once you do it you will hone down everything to your own personal "system" and that works for you. could be totally different from the next person.

@presterjohn71 The pepper is just really for flavor But with salt if u catch rabbit or squirrel(or other small game)you can skin and salt the meat so it last a lot longer(ie through winter) And the vitamins are for if you eat meals but they don't have what u need.like humans can't live on meat alone but if he takes those vitamins with an all meat diet he'll last a lot longer

Nice vid, I wouldn't have necessarily packed as many cloth as you did, but I understand your ideas and necessities are differing from mine. Mine is for Search and Rescue, and the LBE is a day's gear. So in mine I'll have 24 hours of food/snacks, 3AA led maglite to pair with my headlamp, fire starting equipment, shemagh, gloves, poncho, mylar tarp, paracord, and more. The one recommendation I'd have is to put the poncho on the outside, and the more important stuff on top. Thanks, take care man.

I am implementing a similar solution, but I am carrying a Mossberg 500 instead of a rifle. I carry shells in 2 of the ammo pouches, and first-aid gear in another. And I use the fourth for my flashlight, and I have a radio ranger-tied to the left strap. I like the bottle of rice, and I broke down some MRE's for easier carrying. I also carry coffee filters to filter water before putting it through my personal water filter. .. /$0.02

If that works for your, great. I suggest reducing your spice selection to be more compact. You can ditch the tinder boxes if you have boot polish, a little of that lights up like a candle. Maybe add a poncho for shelter/rain gear. Also a camo poncho works well for concealment. Just a thought.

@xDIEHARDxUSMCx , I agree with you and that is the last and final thing is doing things the harder way. When you do things an easier way you burn much less calories thus saving your energy and reducing your food intake. Shoe polish is anything but a waste of space. Shoe polish is about a lot more than making your boots look pretty, shoe polishes primary function is to condition the leather so that it doesn't crack and fall apart. This actually looks like a nice setup, it needs water though.

@mechanicalbu11 So far the nutrition content was the same on the packages so I went with white. I know what your saying and yes brown is better for someone. The other added feature of the white is it should last a little longer in storage. I wouldn't store anything like rimfire ammo in these. I am rough on these packs and I would hate to hit it just right to cause the rounds to fire off.

I am not trying to contradict you, especially since you have taken the time to put out good and helpful information, but please do not advise people to drink animal blood in survival situations. It will do nothing towards dehydration, and the human body treats blood like food. And it takes water to digest food. Drinking blood will compound the problem. Find (or make) clean water, and just eat the animals. SOURCE: FM21-76 Ch. VII Section 2.a Subsection (3). ... Cheers brothers.

I just don't get some of the contents of this bag. With space at such a premium why on earth would you have packs of vitamin pills and salt and pepper? Stick to things like the rice with maybe a few instant soup packets for flavour. You do not need extra vitamins for weeks on end in an outdoor situation and pepper is a total luxury item. People always die of the same things when outdoors. Exposure injury or thirst. Those are the three things your pack should reflect.
