Couple things to consider: depending on if you want to be located or not, might not want to be in the open, or have a fire unless absolutely necessary for hypothermia or cooking, and might not want to be next to water as it attracts all kinds of predators (including the 2-legged variety). Given that you talk about avenues of approach, I’m assuming you may not want to be found. In this case, you probably want to keep your shelter/sleep system all packed up and ready to break contact ASAP until you’re going to use it and then pack it back up as soon as you’re done with your rest plan. Nice video, great intro too man.

Absolutely! I totally agree. It is all depending on the scenario at hand. There are so many things to consider that were not mentioned here, bugging out could be an entire KZbin channel in itself to discuss all of the different possibilities! Thank you for watching!

Unless you have some security coverage I would not be sleeping in a tent during a SHTF event. You’re just to vulnerable. Better to take your bag/blanket and poncho into some dense thickets out of sight. Might not get the best nights sleep, but you’ll wake up in the morning.

Dude, if you bug in at home be prepared to FIP, fight in place! Know your neighbors, team up. If you big out have a exit plan. Bug out to a location that you can reach get a map know the back roads. Drive the route and recon the area, a army buddy of mine called me and other guys we served with and we are planned to get to him/them. You need to know where to go and have rally points and communications other than your cell phone, this guy touched on a lot of stuff so pay attention.

Is there a specific reason to have your lpvo mount backwards? Have you had issues with accuracy having it attached to handguard section?
@trailghostoutdoors5 ай бұрын
I could go into detail on the specifications, but to be totally honest with you, my mount only fit this way. The rings on the mount would not fit the “normal way”. As far as accuracy goes, I haven’t had any issues. As long as you’re not having any issues with eye relief, you can still be accurate. My rifle is designed for close quarter engagements, particularly up to 200 yards. It’s worked out well for me so far!

@trailghostoutdoors that's awesome! I was just curious because I hear so many people talking about it alot, I figured you had a reason for it, and it wasn't just arbitrary 🤣. Here's my question ,, just where are you going to bug out to ??? I'm staying home until I cant
@trailghostoutdoors4 ай бұрын
@@ricktoole9991 this is a great question. There’s a lot of things to consider to bug out, it should be an absolute last resort. Your location is unique to you, and shouldn’t be shared with too many other people. You don’t want people to know where you may be. It can be somewhat close to your house, but I wouldn’t just pitch a tent in your backyard. I would scout out around your area and find a good place, and mark that as a possible location in your plan. But if it’s at all an option, I would bug in. Just a lot more convievent and increases your chances to survive.
@triphammer12034 ай бұрын
Constructive criticism here. So much wrong here. First off your scope mount is backwards. Definitely don’t mount to the handguard. And you’re bringing way too many heavy items. Those tents are ridiculous and so are waterproof boots. And ironically, the only guys I ever saw using grunt rolls were POGs lol
@trailghostoutdoors4 ай бұрын
I’m really starting to get concerned about my scope mount! I haven’t had any issues with having mine mounted this way, and I’ve fired thousands of rounds through it and have never lost zero. I haven’t read if there is a specific way to mount it. So this has inspired me. Making a video on this soon! Tent is only being brought for experiment, I normally wouldn’t bring that specific tent, I go over why I bring the pop up in the gear overview. I would definetly reccomend waterproof boots, if your feet get wet you will die. Grunt rolls are useful for organization, and also help if you’re rolling an entire pair of pants. Thanks for the criticism! I don’t think a lot is wrong but it’s all situation dependent. Appreciate your feedback!

Great stuff if your going camping, In a civil war or invasion you are going to want to stay in your home You want to build a community of like minded individuals to help defend your area , you will not be able to maintain a bug out location for very long , and you tent pitch out in the open will get you seen , if you have to do any as you say you don’t want to be seen so get into the forest area and stay covert , build a camouflage campsite and if you have to move around do it at night with no light , only use your rifle light if you have to engage someone .
