@DjDiSiix not true.. the spoiler comes up above a certain speed and you need the second key to make it retract, bugatti didnt give autocar the second key as they determined it was too risky due to a strong crosswind.. and the wing doesnt have much of an effect below 300kph

Remember this car have a DUAL V8 ENGINE who results a big W16 8.0 with 4 Turbo ! Agera R have one single V8 with twin-turbo Venom GT have one single V8 with twin-turbo ... the bugatti engine is a masterpiece !

acceleration yeah, but top speed is yet to be set beyond 434 km/h by anyone else but the super sport which by the way can clearly pass even 434 ... Bugatti is keeping the bar within reasonable reach so that it is still interesting :P

I cried at the "show-off launch". Not because it's beautiful, but because that's thousands of dollars being burnt there. Rubber is expensive nowadays huh? In the case of Veyron only I guess.

@RAIDwarDEN The problem i have with the Egg is that it is another one of those cars which just want to beat the Veyron as fastest car in the world by strapping two turbos on a V8 (there are many). And at the end of the day it simply has not achived that despite 'theretical top speed'. I used to hate the Veyron until i found out about the technology behind it. the car can produce 1000BHP in the hottest & coldest locations, and last for 100000 of miles. Its a luxuary car which sets the benchmark

I dont care about how fast it is... i do care about how seemless it makes such speeds seem. The guys driving with one hand going over 300 kmph and with no sign of slowing down... Very very few supercars can do that.

That is just a lie. Venom GT is nothing more than a modified Lotus Exige. Look beneath the trunk, it states "made by Delta Motorsport for Hennessey". Hennessey bought an US spec second-hand Exige, shipped to England where the modification is done based on the Exige RR330. Hennessey avoided the mandatory government test to qualify as production car by registering it as a Lotus Exige/Elise. Drive clearly mention Venom GT as tuned car.

What I said about the Veyron numbers was true:none of them were proven on "real life" differently from the ones of the Veyron SS.And you say that a Mclaren F1 isn't very fast for a 600hp car?It's has a lightweight body and one of the first cars with a aerodynamic capable of reaching 400KM/h despite not having enough power for that... And gives you a incredible driving experience!

@xilix ... should SSC find investors to make the second iteration which only exists as CG. Aero was a failure business side (the company did not let independents for test drive and review) even with Guinness Record label because they only sold 10-12 cars including prototype with an alarming return rate due to poor quality and reliability. Bugatti is done with Veyron at the end of 2012 to focus on the incoming Galibier.

Other than 0-60, the acceleration times are a lot faster than the Veyron SS. The top speed is projected to be 273 and I believe it. Acceleration is a lot more important than top speed anyway. It can probably take a corner better than a Veyron too

According to Bugatti 0-60 is in 2.48 and it’s quarter mile time is 9.7 sec. The normal veyron 0-60!in 2.5 sec and 1/4 mile in 10.1 sec? What happened here

Wow, that is insane. The 147.9 mph does not sum up the SS from what I've read. I know R&T tested the original Veyron a little slow at just over 142 mph, compared to other reviews, which I've seen multiple test figures put the "BASE" (LOL) Veyron at around a 150mph trap speed. The SS was said to be able to approach 160mph trap speeds?? Either way, that is an insane car. Now, get that beast in Forza3, do not wait for 4!!

It isn't overrated. You better be quiet because the handling is supreme, it isn't even hindered by its weight, so the more of a piece of magnificence it is. Even Jeremy thought it steers like a Lotus Exige. While those other cars you mentioned are too hard an uncomfortable, the Veyron packs everything. The Supersport is the ultimate car. It IS the fastest in the real world. It has been tested, it can do 431 and the SS reached first place on Top Gear Track. Now go play with your motorcycles.

@DeltaPhi79 ok but i still have a problem with the term "the fastest road car ever made".. maybe at top speed, but on which straight road will you get the chance to go 430kph? not even on the autobahn. the record time on the nürburgring is still the Zonda R, so this is the fastest car to me. and if you had 2mio €, would you really buy a Veyron instead of 10 supercars? i wouldnt. definitely.

The veyron SS is much faster than 22s 0-200mph in topspeed mode because in this video, /watch?v=i9kB3d1mGbk 300(5th to 6th gear shift ) -373(when GPS reading stablilises) kmh only takes 9s. Proportionally, 300-322kmh is 2.7s, even less considering the added drag to 370kmh. 300-400kmh only takes 20s, comparable to the SSC Aero. In this vid (handling mode), the 300-322kmh already takes 4s, and 300-351kmh 13+s.

I cant bring myself to like it, because now the Koenigsegg Agera R can reach 275 i believe, so i'm staying loyal to the original veyron, because Bugatti and Koenigsegg are in a constant battle for that highest velocity trophy, so they will both start shedding parts off, and the cars wont be the same, just lightweight racing cars, not luxury sports machines, Original Veyron is still the king, it took the trophy first, it deserves to keep it. The king of the supercars. Who agrees?

already on the banking it did 250-300kmh in 5s, compared to 6s this video on the straight. The mclaren f1 accelerated already one and a half times as fast on the straight from 280kmh onwards than 250-280kmh on the banking. Just proves that topspeed mode is a major factor and that the fastest 0-300kmh should be closer to 14.6 than 18++s as in autocar.

the agera r and ss are about equal in terms of performance. The SS is faster in slower velocities. from 0-230kmh the SS is faster. From 0-1km in a standing start drag race the SS is ahead. The AGera R is faster on higher velocities, from 230-topspeed. In a mile drag race the agera is ahead.

The Great W16 Bugatti results in greater durability than the V8 pushed to the limit. The W16 works without forcing. A documentary about the Bugatti W16-4 turbo that has been tested to the limit, without some kind of limiter, generated over 3,000 horsepower. This 4Turbo W16 engine is a monster. While the W16 4Turbo only works with 33% of its total capacity, increasing its durability and quality. The V8 has to work 100%. forcing a lot and do not come close to the quality of a bugatti.

lol time to cry? the veyron set out to be a luxury car with the top speed record and it's doing very well at that. the koenigsegg set out to be a luxury car thats lightweight, accelerates quickly and goes well around a track what a surprise it's also doing very well at that. looks like they are both winning to me i dont see any reason to cry i'd take either one if it was handed to me.

they all 3 make around the same horsepower the venom gt with 1 litre less and the agera r with 3 litres less, mentioning the psi of boost is rather irrelevant if one car was high compression low boost doesn't necessarily make it better but i think they are all around 20 psi anyway, less cylinders? how does that matter you already mentioned less displacment, a 3 litre v6 making 300 hp isn't more impressive than a 3 litre v8 making 300 hp

much higher power to weight ratio. goodluck finding someone brave enough to piot the venom to its top speed though, in the veyron even your grandma could take it well over 200mph. what you and millions of others dont seem to grasp is the veyron is its own thing, they are not competing with the venom gt or agera r etc. sure there are cars that are faster, but no car does even close to everything the veyron can do.

youve got it all wrong my friend...yes the bugatti engine is a masterpiece, just as the agera r engine is as well. any displacement of motor has the ability to made to perfection, just because someone comes along and makes a bigger one doesnt mean it is better. it just turns out the w16 has characteristics bugatti wanted in the veyron.im not going to comment on hennessey other then to say they get the job done, but just getting the job done isnt the making of a masterpiece.

Bugatti-Turbocharged, limited to lower Rpm which equals no "Roar". Lamborghini-Normally aspirated not really stuck arround the 6000s Rpm but can rather go up the high 8000s. Alot of "Roar". But in other hands, i actually quite disagree with your opinion. I personally and probably many other does aswell, thinks that the quite quiet exhaust note fits the Veyron. I mean this is'nt a loud American muscle drag car, it's a super refined super sport car which can not be compared to anything today.

No offense but he did the launch controll wrong on the veyron the whole point of the launch system is to spool up the engine especialy the turbos to reach that p.s.i and tl achieve that when he pushed the brake in and the gas he launched right away (not giving the car propper time to wind up) if you do it correctly you will have to make shure you are pushed back into the seat as much as possible (otherwise you will slam into the seat and probally black out.) And your vision will blur.

Yes, so that is a couple of seconds advantage for the right sided steering wheel car. Name an advantage for it being on the left? There isnt one. Unles you are left handed. Also, if you were actually able to drive, one hand often used for rapid lock It is not the rest of the world. Australia and Japan would not agree with you. Also, are you American? We were driving on the left before your country existed (well before you murdered the natives) so there is no reason for us to change to your way
