Ferrari has the best marketing, not the best cars! A friend of mine is the chief-mechanic at Foitek and he knows what he is talking about. This Zonda is absolutely stunning and it is absolutely beside the point if it's a Merc-engine or not. The whole package is sensational.

In some Asian countries (except Japan or South Korea maybe), this car is road legal as long as it has brake lamp, turn lamps, headlight, side mirror, etc. There is one Zonda R that is road legal in Taiwan

For all you people saying things like " da boogatti is only gud Ina strait line" and that it's useless in corners. Tell me at which point in the veyrons development stage the engineers said " we want this to be the ultimate track car that can pull over 2G of cornering force. The Behring and the zonda r were built to serve completely different purposes. The veyron was designed to deliver speed and power far greater than any ROAD car, with the comfort of a Bentley continental/ reliability and serviceability of a golf and the fuel efficiency of a burning oil refinery. Lol jk jk. Whereas the zonda r was designed as a pure blood racer but without having to meet any racing requirements which meant that they could design it however they wanted. Now since people want to argue that the zonda r is better than the Veyron because the veyron isn't as competent around the corners, try taking a zonda r on public roads and see if it compares with the veyron in terms of refinement and comfort. Oh wait you can't because it isn't road legal. Given the choice (and money) I would still buy an r. The guy who gave me the money can go and buy a veyron for himself, or even 5. I'll leave him to be burdened with the mountain of insurance and maintenance costs

i would never buy a 2 million dollar car for comfort, i would just buy a bentley or a mercedes or a rolls royce. supercars are made and bought to be driven fast wether thats illegal or not, who gives a shit. the zonda r is way better than any veyron. equal acceleration, far superior braking, power to weight ratio and cornering ability. its a true hypercar not like the veyron which is simply a bentley on drugs.the veyron is 4000+ pounds of bullshit

As of June 2009, 206 Zondas had been built, including test mules. Both 2-seat coupe and convertible versions have been produced. Construction is mainly of carbon fiber. Some of the early Zonda engineering was done by Formula One champion Juan Manuel Fangio ( this is from Wikipedia)

@esumpe You're totally right to say that Pagani is in a different league than Ferrari.Pagani is at least one league below them. Ferrari is a perennial F1 power player. They build virtually every component of their cars, most importantly their engines (Pagani uses Mercedes engines). 458 Italia engine = 124hp per liter. Pagani is amazing and I love the Zonda, but they are still at this point a company that has built one car, followed by slightly upgraded versions. Lets see what the future holds.
