Infinium is revolutionary. Removes all the pain from tube amplification, leaving the best parts only. 1) No need to pay a guy for check tubes (the leds make this automatically ) 2) No need to pay more for a matched pair or quartet. The amp does itself 3) Auto bias. Never pay again for a tech guy to rebias the amp. The amp adjusts automatically to the new valve. 4) Due to this circuit, valves can last 20x longer (= 20 years) with proper care. Don't need to replace everytime. 4) they are affordable. You can even have a small collection of cabs, heads and combos and never change tubes again. 5) you can use any tube with same pin configuration: 6LC, EL34 5881... and MIX THEM. 6) i love the design, vintage looks and details of the brand. The name and the logo are super cool too. Why are the other brands not bankrupt yet? To me All this reasons are enough to buy them all.

Bought a Boss Katana primarily because it weighs less than the Bugera. Big mistake going right back to the store. The Bugera blows it away. Don't believe the hype of the tube emulation. You would have to have tin ears not to hear the difference. IMHO

@@ccamacho9333 I also had the quilter for a bit and I don't mean to come off like a tube snob but the sound of what is considered a cheap product the V22 was just better in my opinion. If I use the gain on the Bugera I usually use it at 2 or 3 and step on the Soul Food overdrive for the dirty sound.

Got one at a pawn shop bout 2 years ago for $165. Had a shot tube and one of the legs came off but was still with the amp. Was able to get them down from an already great price. Only a while after I realized how amazing of a deal I got on it. Sounds great and it’s cool as fuck that you can put in tubes that aren’t the same and it’ll match them.

The V22 is one i haven't played thru. I owned the Bugera 1960 Marshall Plexi Clone and it was a ferocious 150 watts of fire breathing power that sounded great. I also owned the Bugera Trirec 3 channel amp and kick myself for ever selling it. It did everything really really well. I had no quality issues with either of them. Maybe one day you will get a chance to play both of those amps, the 1960 is right up your alley.

I got my V22 many years ago... I use it for rehearsal, on stage and at home... I was lucky (I guess), never had a problem. I own also Marshall, Orange and Victory... but for clean jobs my Bugera is still my favourite choice.... the OD channel is not so great, but it "eats" pedals very well, so not a big problem. It's a very good deal.

Amp is excellent 😎. I've bought many tube amps over the years. Most of the time I sell them to buy more. Basically float the money so I can try anything I want. This one stays because it sounds fantastic and it's not very expensive on the used market so why bother getting rid of it. Paid $160 on craigslist and was best money spent. The clean is as good as it gets. Warm and clear. On board reverb is excellent. Pedals work perfectly and enough power to cut through drums. I treat it like you would using a fender hotrod. Pedals only because the OD channel is garbage and the cabinet covering is cheap vinyl but where it counts (reliable, great pedal platform, excellent speaker and great sound) I will save you time and money. If your on a budget can't beat it.

I've had my V22 INfinium for about two years now. I put a Peavey Blue Marvel in it and I think that speaker is a good fit. Every time I think I want to sell the V22 I play it and remember why I've kept it. Nice clean channel and for those of us who like edge of breakup and light gain on our tones this amp does that well. I'd say it's probably the best amp Bugera makes. I've owned the original V55 head with Bug's 2x12 cabinet and I really liked the 6L6 tone.

I have this amp for over 3 yrs now and i also have and had many high gain expensive amps (MarkV 90, evh 5150 iii Stealth, dsl100h, freeman JJ cantrell) so my ears know good amps sound and i have to agree with most comments here, it is a unknown gem, the clean with the right amount of the amp stock reverb with your neck pickup low treble and more mids and bass sounds beautiful, this is a good amp if you wanna sound like Brian May without breaking the bank, is an affordable competition to the AC from Vox and you'll be pleased.

No issues in all these years and sounding better everyday. I love the sounding in both channels; fat, full, warmth and very vintage. Only thing I dislike is the digital built in reverb. Good review Elmo, went through a lot of tonal variation and covered a number of practical considerations. Thanks! Looks like a pretty basic 2 channel all tube amp with some classic sounds, though changing tubes and the speaker could fine tune that. The triode/pentode switch is nice to have though not terribly practical. It's a shame that the footswitch doesn't include boost. I would be interested to know how the fx send works for direct recording, as the amp has no line output.

Love that amp, but I kinda always hated the stock Turbosound speaker they come with. For cleans it's ok I guess but for any kind of distorted sound it sounds very thin and harsh. So I'd recommend getting the head-version instead of the combo, or at least change the speaker in the combo. I'm using it as a pedal platform through a 2x12 loaded with a WGS ET65 and a G12M Greenback and I love how it sounds. Speakers and cabinets can make a huge difference in tone.

@@benjib8663 hmmm, I kinda had the exact opposite experience. I've changed all the tubes in my v22. First the preamp tubes (to EHX 12ax7) and then a year later the power tubes (to JJ EL84) and to my ears it didn't really make a perceivable difference in tone. The preamp tubes maybe a little bit, but I'm still not sure if I'm just imagining things. Maybe if you change to a different type of tube it would change the "feel" of the amp quite a bit, but I haven't tried it so far. The speaker on the other hand, I can't stress this enough because many people overlook this aspect, is probably the most *drastic* change you can make to a combo amp in terms of tone. Really, sometimes it feels like a completely different amp afterwards. If the stock speaker in this case is "good" or not of course really comes down to personal taste. For some uses it can sound quite good and I can see how some people may like it, but I'm not one of them. Especially for distorted sounds it sounds quite harsh to me and I don't seem to be alone with this opinion. But as I said, it's completely subjective

One more comment, I'm in Northern Alabama, USA, the street price new is currently around $360.00 USD, and plenty on the used market for $250.00 every day of the week. Many I've discussed why they hated theirs was buying with unrealistic expectations. It will never sound like a maxed out Marshall but does sorta pull off a chimey Voxy Ac something, cleans up Fender'ish. Many buying the MARSHALL Origin amps are expecting gain staged grind but the Origin describes its sound, how the earliest Marshall's sounded before gain stage stacking. To my ears they sound excellent, its a point of perspective. Buying products we can't touch or hear from warehouses relying on written reviews or crappy product demo videos by people who can barely play, this is going to happen more and more. Plus there's the glowing reviews given by people that were given whatever they're reviewing free can't always be trusted either. I trust Elmo and his opinions, and the guy can PLAY! Hi to all my Bugera loving brothers and sisters.

One more thing, I thought I was finished talking, nope. I obtained mine used priced at $250.00. It wasn't what the seller was expecting or needed. Every demo video I've seen the jewel pilot light color has been red'ish/orange'ish where mine is blue. Just Googled why, mine is an older model that had some problems but in the 2 1/2 years I've had it no problems. I at least know what the problems have been and they're easy repairs.

@@drewingles3999 - take the bottom back panel out, it’ll give you a little more access room, get yourself a decent torch 🔦 That done - it’s all easier with a little light and upended. The screws are very shallow indeed, see you’ve a well fitting screwdriver, pref with a magnetic tip or a wee dab o’ blue tack. They’ll drop one way or another - but thankfully, with care, nae prob. Wiggle gently with the tubes and be aware of the orientation of the ‘horse shoe’ of the pins. I’ve gotta be honest, the cage is an arse really - you don’t have to put it back if your that fussed. Wot - no farts crackles and pops for that authentic 1960's/70's basement blues club experience ? :) . Seriously it has that valve sound that I always find preferable to solid state - just more mellow and less brittle and spikey. If I was a young kid starting out wanting to play the blues this would be high on my list of amps.

I need another amplifier like a hole in the head….! I have 30 some guitars in my studio now and I believe 10 different amplifiers ranging from five Watts to 120…! I don’t know why I am even entertaining the idea of purchasing this amplifier the 22 Watts with a 1-12” speaker is portable enough if I do want to go someplace and jam with a friend which most of the time they come to me…..😹😹😹 So if I buy this amplifier I will justify it by taking it to a couple gigs….! Then I can say I needed this amplifier…….🙄 Oh by the way you are a phenomenal player 👍🏻🙏🏻👍🏻 , and I truly enjoyed your demo of the amplifier have a great weekend ….! Professor Jeff

Elmo superb playing and great video, you are a wicked cool dude and a amazing guitarist. I bought this same amp a few months ago and the guitar i use with it is an American Fender Strat, Professional series. My strat and the Bugera pair up excellent. This amp is so versatile and just sounds amazing. Like Elmo said in his video it is loud and powerful. You can crank it all the way up and the 12 inch Turbosound speaker handles it just fine, no buzzing, vibration or bad breaking up. It hits its sweet spot with no problem. The cleans and gain channels sound like they are coming from a $1000.00 dollar amplifier, and that is playing it with no pedals. Like Elmo stated for the money you cant beat it. I had a Fender, Marshall, Vox. Black star (Katana) amps and in all honesty for me i love the Bugera. There is a lot going on in the back of the amp as well and has,,, Triode and Pentode Mode, Tube Life Monitoring with red light indicators telling you to replace a tube depending which red light turned on. The back also has, 4, 8, 16 OHM so you can lower the power if you need it to be quieter. This amp can handle it all from, Blues to Classic Rock and much, much more...

I'm only halfway thru the video. I'm glad I double checked myself before commenting "hopefully by the end you find the switch on the back that cuts the output volume down to under a watt", I must be having BRAINFARTS because according to the manual the V22 INFINIUM doesn't have that switch. I would have sworn on my life that it does. I'm gonna check for myself. BRB. Nope, STILL doesn't have that switch. Tee-hee, I'm ok . . . I do love my Bugera V22 Infinium tho. (EDIT- I'm NOT talking about the Pentode/Triode switch, I was talking about the output power switch that I know that are on the Bugera V5 amp).

Have you ever tried a USA made Peavey classic 30 or 50? I had the 30 watt and loved it. It was stolen along with an RG Ibanez 550 that was one of my fav guitars too because it was black and had a maple neck and the edge low pro trem. Anyway, the Peavey classic is about the same size and sounds really really good and also has a loop, 12 inch speaker, 2 channels, etc. Not a high gain monster but takes overdrive pedals well. I used it with an SD1 and then later with the DOD yngwie overdrive which really sounded good with it. Anyway, thanks man. Great review. Very cool.

@@philipchau6019 I've never played on the Marshall. The dirty channel is decent by its own up to 6-7 and that's for low to mid gain. After that I use a tube screamer to boost it otherwise it's a fiz Fest.. The Marshall has a defined sound, the bugera kinda sounds like a fender with el84s.
