And no one except the people who actually fought or knew Buggy knows that he weak, all they know is that he was on the former pirate king ship, that he is the sworn brother of shanks, and that he and Luffy made the biggest jail break of impel down history together which is enough of a threat to make him a yonko. One thing I like to remember about Buggy, is his reaction to hearing that Luffy had met Rayleigh. Buggy immediately dropped all of his shenanigans and showboating, plotting etc, and just honed in on Rayleigh. Smiling while he asked where Luffy met him and mentioning how much he misses him. In short I just want people to remember Buggy seems to genuinely hold Rayleigh in an affectionate light and I feel as though he'd definitely form an Alliance for Luffy's benefit if Rayleigh were somehow involved in the request.

While I love the idea of Buggy "failing upward" from leader of Impel Down's prison break to Warlord of the Sea to Pirate Emperor, I honestly just love this development because it allows Buggy to continue to be part of the story. Buggy's one of my favorite characters, and it's just really fun to see him whenever possible. Also, on the one hand, I get where people are coming from when they say they don't read One Piece for the comedy, but on the other hand, I feel like that's kind of a denial of what One Piece is. One Piece can, in fact, be a goofy pirates comic AND a dramatic and political story at the same time, and at least in my opinion, one of Oda's strongest qualities is his ability to balance both of these things so well. Also, the fact that he designed Luffy to have rubber powers specifically because they're goofy and he felt more comfortable doing goofy stuff than tackling anything truly badass is, in addition to being kind of a humble statement on Oda's part considering all the badass moments in One Piece, a telling sign of what Oda always intended One Piece to be, so to see people be all "I don't read One Piece for the comedy" makes me feel like they almost kind miss half of the appeal of the manga/anime... At the very least, try to acknowledge that the comedy aspect is and has always been there, and that even if they don't like it, they should try not to get upset when someone accurately describes the series as such. Lastly, unrelated note, but I hope you make a follow-up video to your "The New Type of DEVIL FRUIT is ALREADY HERE!!" video you made last year, in particular you're comments about a certain "John Flowerman", in light of recent developments in the manga.

From this point of view it also makes them hypocritical. If you are reading One Piece for "dramatic and political story" then you should love buggy becoming a emperor. What's more politically intriguing then a person who by all respects shouldn't hold the title of emperor managed to take and hold the title. Because of his theatrics during major events the 'news' in the world of one piece focuses on Buggy more, this allows Buggy to build a huge armada off his unearned reputation, that attracts more pirates who want to join the 'up incoming emperor' causing a feedback loop. This also causes the navy/world Gov. to overestimate Buggy or they are correctly estimating Buggy's strength and let him continue freely because it's easier to deal with Buggy then someone who is actually strong, don't stop your enemy when they are cutting themselves type thing. The truth is they just don't like Buggy's character because Buggy himself is meant to be a comedic character and they want their political intrigue to be literally spelled out to them because they don't understand the concept of layering and it might confuse their smooth brains.

It's interesting because Luffy has always made subordinates of the people around him, and big news Morgan has spun this to be that Luffy is the one calling the shots. He did this for the Fire Tank pirates during the big mom arc, he did this during the current Wano arc by claiming Law and Kidd were his underlings, and he's going to do this again when Luffy invariably makes Buggy and Shanks his accomplices taking down the world government / Celestial dragons / Im-Sama etc etc. I doubt Luffy could befriend Blackbeard or even want to - after all if it wasn't for Blackbeard then Ace would still be alive, but Buggy and Shanks are definitely down to clown, at least one of them is anyway lmao.

I honestly love the idea Luffy somehow befriending Blackbeard. I mean there actually are some hints (or you could just call it foreshadowings). Just remember the first time Luffy and BB met on Jaya, it already felt like they were friends. Also Luffy’s „special power“ to turn people around him on his side, like Mihawk said. And since Oda loves to put some twists in his story, I can really imagine the Strawhats somehow becoming allies with the Blackbeard pirates.

@@cond.oriano3264 it actually seems pretty possible, we've already seen luffy ally or at least get along with previous "sick bastard" characters like Crocodile and Helmeppo (who nearly got zoro killed). The only major differences in Blackbeards case is that he succeeded in getting someone killed, and that someone was personally important to luffy. At the very least I could see an alliance of necessity when the big pirates v. WG war comes to fruition and they need all the firepower they can get.

@@cond.oriano3264 BB's pirate crew are pretty ruthless to the point where I don't think they would mesh well with the strawhats, but then again Kidds crew was also pretty ruthless when they were first shown so who knows. But I think BB's crew are much worse, BB and the ex vice warden both killed their own friends which I don't see how they can ever be seen as buddying up to the strawhats - Kidd at least gives a fuck about his crew, as we saw when Killer was captured. Kidd is redeemable, BB I don't think he is at this point, especially not his crew. It's my running theory that BB is the moon to Luffy's sun - their first meetings they were polar opposites as was depicted with the pies / drinks they were at odds over. If there's a joyboy, maybe there's an angryboi lmao.

Pirate Buggy becoming "Buggy no Yonkō" likely has to do with whatever off-panel/screen antics that occurred when, as Shichibukai Buggy, he decided to stay and fight the Marine Warlord Apprehension Division sent in to capture him. He (or more likely his clueless yet powerful followers) probably Buggy-Blasted the Marines off the sea, sending them to visit Eneru on the moon. The WG and Marine All Stars had no choice but to tag him in due to the failure of Big Mom. Also, maybe the WG sees Buggy and crew as more of a controlled opposition rather than a true threat. So if they put his name in lights as an Emperor of the Sea, then it might serve the purpose of keeping other powerful pirates busy with going after Buggy to take his crown.

I think Buggy allied himself with Blackbeard. Remember that Buggy has been looking for Captain John's treasure since the beginning. Luffy gave him John's armband for helping him in Impel Down. Earlier in the manga/anime it was shown and mentioned that Captain John's treasure was at an island with a skull structure. It was not made clear if Buggy was able to get the treasure or not. I'm guessing that after being hunted down by the Marines, Buggy might've went to Hachinosu, an island that has a skull shaped structure, to look for the treasure. The island also happens to be the Blackbeard Pirates hideout/territory. Buggy is a wise pirate, he might've used his words to persuade Blackbeard to partner with him or work for him. But little to Blackbeard's knowledge, Buggy was just in it for John's treasure.

Now the last time we saw him was shortly after the dissolution of the Warlord system, he said to his followers that they will fight against the navy forces who are after them, while in actuality, it was a decoy for Buggy to run away before it was too late. But while it may not seem like a terrible plan in an effort to save himself, abandoning his subordinates without at least helping them in their time of needs wouldn't exactly look good on someone who had a history with Roger & Shanks. And I doubt it would make Buggy a worthy candidate to fill in one of the 2 empty positions for Emperor. However, what if Buggy ended up having a moment similar to Usopp during Dressrosa? Specifically where he told the Tontata tribe that what he said to them were lies but ended up becoming the hero they needed. So in this scenario Buggy did attempted to runaway from the battle, but after hearing the voices of his followers, he came back out of guilt, and by overcoming his cowardly ways, he became the powerful capitan that his subordinates believed he was & a threat that the Government feared! Thus becoming one of the 2 new emperors along side Luffy! But that is just my theory. I just wanted to know what you think?

It is curious how Buggy is one of the characters that should know the One Piece truly exists but has never shown an interest in finding it. His focus on Captain John's treasure almost makes it seem like he knows there is something in that reward that is either better than the One Piece to him or a means to get to the One Piece. Maybe Buggy knowing what the One Piece actually is is what has made it so he has no interest in finding it, he understands it isn't his to claim.

I think you’re half right. The One Piece has been hinted to be something that the World Government has been trying to suppress, and seeing as the finding the One Piece would complicate his life dramatically, Buggy is unlikely to want to find it. Captain John’s treasure is far more likely to be straight up gold, which is something that an easy-going guy like Buggy would be far more interested in. TLDR: finding the One Piece would make his life more difficult, so he’s not interested in it. Finding straight up Gold would make his life easier, so he wants that instead.

Oda gave another hint about Buggy being a D. Clan member. Luffy and BB are a D. member that's for sure. They both laugh on their poster and Buggy too but not Shanks. Ahoy! Glad to join the fleet! Here's an interesting topic: I'm curious to see what kind of system Oda has envisioned for Luffy's ideal world. After learning a bit about anarcho capitalism and other government free systems, it seems inevitable that these eventually become some kind of absolute or even totalitarian system. Unless you somehow brainwash the entire planet, you won't get rid of greed, corruption and the desire for power, as these are fundamentally human traits. Especially when you're free to do whatever you want. And brainwashing would be more manipulation than liberation. I just find it hard to believe that Luffy shattering the world order would solve anything. After the world government collapses, so will the regulated economy, as the ones regulating it have just been pummeled by a laughing god. People will still need food, goods, basic services, protection, etc. Who will provide these? Pirates? Whoever provides these after the WG collapses will become immensely rich and influential, as they're utterly indispensable. By "liberating" the world, Luffy might just be unintentionally crowning future Gorosei, who in turn will brandish they're own version of government and enforcement agency. And that is just the tip of the iceberg of the consequences following a world wide government breakdown. We mustn't forget that most people in One Piece, aside from fictional, aren't pirates, marines or revolutionaries, but plain and simple folk trying to get by. Is their world perfect? No, but they don't have to fear inflated food prices or lack of protection. Take that away and you'll make a lot of people's lives very hard very quickly. Sure, the Gorosei's world isn't perfect, but at least none of us can brag about understanding what it's like to govern a country, let alone an entire planet. They're involved in some shady shenanigans, but try finding any real world example of a government system still in existence who's slate is squicky clean and you'll quickly realise that being a choir boy on the world stage without ever getting your hands dirty is a utopian fantasy. Scale that up to governing an entire planet and it might become apparent why slavery and other inequalities are still present in the OP world. Progress and innovation takes time and cannot always be achieved via straight lines. Imagine you govern an entire planet, with different cultures, history and beliefs. Now, imagine that you've introduced a new law that goes against some of those beliefs, like banning slavery or introducing women's rights in patriarchal societies. Some will welcome the change while others see it as an encroachment on their culture, believes or economy, and who downright refuse to collaborate with this new law. Then, you, as the WG, could simply sanction them or just no longer provide trade and services to them. However, aside from slaves, they also trade in other treasured commodities such as oil, spices or any other goods people value that are in very short supply, and these rebellious nations just so happen to have a lot of. And some of these goods are indispensable for a functioning world wide economy. What do you do as the WG? Do you risk a worldwide inflation? Do you go into those countries to force a change in regime, mentality and law? Do you buster call them? Or do you diplomatically turn a blind eye to their crimes against humanity in order to ensure that the rest of the world doesn't pay the price for their lack of cooperation, thus maintaining global balance, and perhaps try introducing progressive ideas a few decades or centuries later? This is all to say that managing a world government where everyone is happy and satisfied isn't as simple as punching the Red Line out of existence. And as regular people we cannot begin to fathom what goes on behind the scenes in order to live our lives the way we do. No wonder then that we almost always see the Gorosei appearing to work or be otherwise engaged in business and have never been seen them rolling around in money and women or just having a good time in general. They probably have the best intentions for the whole world, but putting those into practice is an endless endeavor, which is why they needed to become immortal. And by their mannerisms on Ohara, you can tell that they do not make light decisions. No surprise then that they don't want someone with the same good intentions but utter ignorance of what it actually means to create a perfect world for everyone to just stroll along and ruin everything they've spent literal centuries building up. Maybe it's my age, but I'm starting to see Luffy more as that wide eyed dream we all had/have of and ideal utopian world. While the Gorosei represent the true, crude, disillusioned and sacrifice riddled reality. After this reflection, it will be hard for me to see the Gorosei as evil or even morally grey, as they're likely doing the best they can for the best possible world. If anything, they're more or less grounded in reality. But knowing Oda, that opinion might just change within a single chapter. So I'm really curious to find out what Oda's solution is to this conundrum. Thanks for reading. Big fan of the channel!

I presume that once we reach the stage of the story where our main cast is required to deal with the WG directly, we may face a similar dilemma to AOT - where the antagonists simply be trying their best for the greater good, just like the protagonists. I just realized something I kinda think Zorro could still kill him somehow 🤔 we haven't seen buggy get cut with Haki coated swords but he can separate on his own hmmm. Idk 😐 never thought about it till now. Do you have an opinion on that?

@@Thethem4357 I think Mihawk used Haki. But because it's pre time skip and his sword is black it's hard to tell. If he did use Haki, then Buggy is OP. But Zoro could probably just punch him to win.

I‘m pretty sure I read somewhere Oda stated that Buggy would be the only person in the One Piece world who could survive Doflamingos birdcage without any scratches. I guess in that case not even Mihawk or Zoro using Haki could harm Buggy with their swords.

Apparently when buggy was announced to be a warlord. He joked that he would be a Yonko in a few years time in the anime in episode 629. He got cut off when he said he was become king of the pirates. It was right there the whole time.

if you think about it buggy is replacing 2 emporors since luffy was considered the fifth, meaning buggy is twice as great as the others.

What if buggy was asked by shanks to watch over luffy and test his strength but pretends to kill luffy. Buggy was doing it bc shanks is offering him treasure maps and was just acting as a fool but he really is strong. Since he battled alongside with shanks I don't really think buggy is weak

just wondering that when Kaido was committing suicide attempts he tried everything but he didn't jumped into the sea. Why? Can we say he was just bragging his strength and was actually scared of death?

Im guessing that because his fruit is the fish-fish fruit, he can breath underwater, so it would just be torture, like sleep paralysis forever or until he starves

Kaido wanted a glorious death and drowning ain't very glorious. Dropping from a sky island or any of the others mentioned however are pretty cool.

@@AC-ql7jn no it just makes the user unable to move, if i recall correctly in Arlong Park luffy fell under water and someone stretched his neck so that his head is above water and can breath.
