Good grief .. it was FIFTY years ago that my friends and I discovered this movie in a double feature and saw it over and over while it was in town!

As a 12 yr. old Dancing man tripping into the bushes made me laugh my butt off. Always saw it in my mind whenever and wherever I saw a row of bushes similar to these.. 48 years later. 😂

Groove Tube..saw it at the drive-in, a double feature with Fritz the Cat..went 2 nights in a row...

Groove tube was the inspiration for saturday night live. This was the first Schulers Reel shown on SNL . It was a quite tribute to the shows origins. So the next time you see this movie think of it as the very first SNL. And maby even the first Cheech and Chong movie . All rolled into one.

Channel One was the genesis of Groove Tube, hence the eventual SNL.

Yeah, in a book about SNL I read a long time ago I seem to remember Ken Shapiro having some NBC execs in his loft where he showed them some film and they discussed what the NOW generation would want to see.

this was the final skit of the flick and it routinely brought the audience to thunderous applause! Rare flick that got the audience completely involved.

And not for nothing but, dig the Pan Am travel bag he's holding. Talk about a cherry on top.
