Day 7: Morning Hunt
The previous night's action was pretty much non-existent for each of the Teams, but what a difference one morning can make!
Team ELK101 has relocated and they're chasing multiple bugles up the mountain at daylight, Team FRESH TRACKS is closing in on a fired-up bull, and Team SKOUSEN has once again found themselves in the middle of a giant herd with multiple bulls!
There's been a bit of a dry spell when it comes to filling tags though....is today the day?

Been there done that with that. My 'buddy' was practically running down the hill to meet us down below, then I looked up just in time to see my 'buddy' the 6x6 throw all four into a sliding stop and disappear from 15 yards away faster that you could blink...My rule then became..."It's always a Bull until the hunter walk up!" That saved a hunt the very next day in the exact spot and I was sure it was my 'buddy' which is why I was at full draw. Good lesson to learn. But really...you guys had all the fun of hunting and none of the work...nice job.

Team Skausen at 14:25, “I wonder how far we can sneak up on them”. It’s amazing to me that anyone can “sneak up” on Elk herds with 3 people, let alone by yourself. I can only imagine the frustration, trying to be quiet (or at least sound like moving Elk), and only moving when the multiple sets of eyeballs aren’t on you all. Thanks for all your hard work, and taking us along!

Really surprised Team Peax got caught off guard with that bow string derailing. Any thing like that can be remedied in the field with a cable bow press. Even change out strings and cables in the back country. Worth their weight in gold! I don't plan on missing any part of my hunt so I always carry one with a set of strings.
